I have to agree with AKSD, my WM runs out of battery quicker if I leave lot's of apps open.

Normaly i leave gdesk, contacts, calendar, swiss manager, x-plore, escarpod, control panel, advance call manager, phone anti-theft, iphone lock all running on background on my P1, everyday, and the battery life is still very good....

It'd be better without running those, but having said that I don't actually have a problem with battery life of the P1, or for that matter some HTC models. My HW6915 has excellent battery life and fantastic standby time, whether a lot of apps are running or not. Standby time is reduced when lot's of apps remain open (even if they are not functioning), but it's still a satisfactory standby period. I get days and days of standby time (though I don't use it as a phone that often so it's mostly in flightmode when in standby).

But if you use it as a phone everyday then it has to be charged everynight, and in that case you wouldn't notice any difference if you left apps open or not. In such a case open apps are insignificant next to the use of the radio (phone or wifi or bluetooth).

If you are using a PDA as a phone then as long as you can get easily through the day with your pattern of calls and wifi use then the battery is adequate in my book. If you do more than 4-5 hours of talk or 1-1.5 hrs of wifi (or combinations thereof) per day, then you'd need to look t PDA's with better than average talktime.

Does this mean the back of the X1 is plastic and only the cover is brushed steel?
Idk how the final product will look but it kinda look a bit cheap in this picture.

How come we saw all these models at Cebit.08 already? And they were fully working...I played with them!? Are you somehow way behind with your meetings or does this only mean that the models you see at your meetings are very close to release to the market??

Greetz.

You my freind, are a moron.

I have said it once before and I think this is the appropriate thread to say it again.

If any one thinks, that when this phone comes out, and it will be a bug free, n95 killer needs some serious help. Sony Ericsson do not rule. They far from rule, at this momment in time, sony ericcson suck. SE have proved that they fail in innovation and they can't make a phone that is not ridden with bugs upon release. I can bet money that this phone follows the same footsteps. As soon as its out, we will have threads, demanding new FW. It has now become a typical and boring process.

All sony ericssons are the same but in diffrent housings, same old phone, with the preety label, but with the same old tech, same old problems. SE continue to incorpirate 2mp cams in their high ends. I think that one sentence says it all. (But hey, sony ericsson f***ing rule, don't they?)

Plankgaton, please don't cry, but the sad fact is, SE are a backwards company. They have gone backwards after the release of the k800 (some can argue the k750) They use the same old stuff and repackage it. Really innovative, huh Plankgaton? Now lets look at Nokia, a company which always trys to set the standards, and has phones for every one and pushes tech to the limit, and then you proberly sit there, Plankgatton, crying with your darling k850 comforting you, wondering why SE don't sell as well as nokia.

The only thing the Xperia, X1 or what ever the hell its called will eat, is the same sh*t of the n95 and other nokia handsets, which other sony ericssons have been eating for the last two years.

I know a lot of this might be of topic, but Plankgatan, I am so damn sick of your 5 year old comments, concerning nokia and se. You sound like a damn kid, debating who has better pokemon. Wake up, actualy own a nokia for once and see the light.

Plankgatan is here WOOHOO! Go plank! Go plank!

People that arent impressed with this phone have something wrong with them. Get off esato and go find a Nokia forum. Nokia will have NOTHING as good as the Xperia. They are releasing the N96... Wow, reskinning the N95, talk about innovation!

Ok.. can some one remind me what the k810 is to the k800..? Typical fanboy comment. Did'nt the n95 first use GPS and 5mp cam? Thats innovation, its funny how SE waited a year before they finnaly woke up, and hey, lets look at the k850 pics, they are sh*t!

Hi all,

I'm sorry but some of what is now being said is this thread is way of topic and to be honest i would expect more from certain members. They should be able to ignore the petty boasts of deluded children and treat them as such.

The fact's really are all that is needed if and when the X1 arrives that really is the only time it can be judged everything else is merely conjecture from both sides.

There are far to many rumors floating about many without any qualification and until they are confirmed they should be given the credit they deserve which is nothing.

In the same way all this Nokia bashing is just silly no one says you have to like their devices or use one for that matter but trying to claim they are all rubbish just isn't supported by the facts.

Marc

When people are naysaying, hating and denigrating you, you know you are doing something right!!! It shows a sort of jealousy (that their favorite company is lagging). IOW, the fact that there are so many coming on here to declare how poor is, how X1 isn't going to be so great, or, that HTC "really" created the X1, is truly a testament to the X1 greatness.

I posed the question several pages back: what manufacturer has officially announced or is producing a phone that is equal to or superior to the X1 in all respects? I haven't gotten a valid answer yet. The few phones that were listed were nice tries....but no cigar.

bashers and X1 haters......keep entertaining us!!!

Hope SE do not put unfinished firmware in X1 like they did with P990 just to be on the market. Anyway SE is hopelessly late with X1 even if they can release it in Oct. Diamond will start selling in June and have as good or even better spec than X1 (which looks like a brick compared to Diamond). Diamond will eat away a big portion of X1 potential buyers. And the HTC Touch Pro (Diamond with a slide out keypad) would mop up the rest of the buyers if X1 can't make it on time.

I think now many potential buyers would be wary of the X1 amidst all the problems SE is facing with the firmware (and licensing issues). So yeah, Dec 08 would lucky for X1 if it can show its face by then.

Be realistic, the list of phones all had similar features to the X1. Maybe in your mind you've put the X1 on some sort of pedestel, but trust me its not special or revolutionary in any way. And I'm not "jealous" as I dont follow a single manufacturer, in the last year I've used SE, Nokia, Samsung, Motorola and HTC handsets. Maybe if you actually do look around you'll see that the X1 is "lacking" in specs that should have been present in a device that is to be announced mid-late 2008 such as TV-Out and USB host, which was present on imates launched last year. This is an enterprise model, and will be bloody expensive, when I spend my money I expect to get my money worth, comments such as keep SE thinking that whatever crap they throw at us, we fanboys willl slobber over it and spend our hard earned money on it.

Yes, the X1 is a good phone, compare to my TYTn2(Tilt in the USA) its got a better screen, slimmer, a bit thinner, looks like the same cam unit, and an led, but is this change "revolutionary" or even sufficent evolution to end up paying 900USD for? When there are sufficent changes which make the phone worth paying that 900USD from its predecessor, THEN I'd say that its something unique or special, but thats just me. If you actually think the X1 is something special and revolutionary you go right ahead and do so, but the reality of the situation is that it really is'nt.
