The oversaturation is the worst aspect of the N95 camera. The watercolour affect is bad in comparison to K850, but the colour is appalling. It's simply not real. Blue's are purple on the N95.

Unfortunately, this poor colour reproduction also carries over to the video recording. This is quite disappointing, because the N95 video recording is excellent in all respects bar colour reproduction.

In other words, SE's Approach was better, it only shows what the camera sensor and lens could do the best it can. but with simple image calibration you can achieve perfect results like saturation edge sahrpness and so on. imagine if SE could use Carl-zeiss along with it's proprietary Sensor like the one found in S700 what could be possible then?

i changed my mind., i will not buy this phone., i'll wait for a new cybershot phone, 5 or 7.1 megapixels that can record VGA size video.

anyways.,

as we all know., n95's picture are saturated., but...there are really good when you print this pictures.,just like n73 compared to k800., the k800i preserved the details., but in prints...n73 is better
you can always find one if you know where to look

it would be better than buying N95 - or atleast wait until we can see what SE vga video looks like - it will have better colour reproduction - this is an area SE have always done well. Perhaps it's the Sony influence.

you shouldn't need to rely on the camera to "pre-saturate" the image. This rather destroys the usefulness of the image in web and display use.

When you print images you should adjust colour saturation at that point rather than when taking the photo. When you take them to the store to get printed they automatically adjust colour, brightness and contrast to suit the print medium. So pre-saturation seems pointless to me.

im going to be the judge of how good this camera is when i get it. I trust sony, im not looking for a dedicated camera, this is a phone plus a camera, ideal just for pointing and taking shots when you dont have your camera handy, after the k800 came out i hated the camera at first compared to the k750 but after getting used to it and adjusting the settings to aquire to the scene, i produced some pretty good pictures from the k800.

I really do trust SE with this phone and when its in my hands and im the one choosing the settings and whats being photographed i will judge how good the camera is. Im sure its going to be better than the k800, hey maybe its not the giant leap forward we all expected after such a wait.

Maybe we have been spoiled by SE and this one time when they dont quite deliver what we expect so many ppl complain but im going to stick by them and be happy with my k850 and post pictures here i have no doubt i will be proud of!

We know all shades of red becomes pink in photo taken K850. And the K850 photo is very noisy and blurry and not to mention the purple fringing problem. Another big issue with K850 is the washed out color making photo looks dull. I rather take the oversaturated photo of N95 rather the issues with K850. And N95 saturated photo certainly looks better whther you print it out or see on the PC than K850. And this my friend is what matters. Dude .... THIS IS THE post of the DAY! Shit the WEEK! You've just took the words out of my mouth ... and really I think that all of us that frequent this ONE thread are knowingly ready to put our hard earned Dinero ($$) to upgrade to the K850i.

I couldn't agree anymore. Just that when this K850i is in MY OWN hands I don't expect my photos would be the cream of the top, ha not even mid tier. However I DO hope that there ARE some photo GURU's - ppl that took photography that can play with the K850i more than just a few weeks and really give this phone its potential. Especially since we NOW have the ability to play with ISO settings DIRECTLY! I have NOT seen this spec in ANY camera phone.

For me, besides needing better subjects to snap, I'm still on a learning curve for better photos taken with my K790a - but the features & hardware is just too impressive that I cannot ignore the K850i.

@mib1800

There is already loads of PC software with which to edit the K850i pictures prior to printing, without having the phone do it for you first whether you like it or not. THAT is major advantage because at least you have the choice.

Some people like neutral colours while others may prefer burning reds an fluorescent yellows in every shot, others would like to have the choice.

Simple Pimple.
