Strange, although I 'did' remove all phone related drivers from Device Manager first, and re-connected my phone before I checked for an update this time.

Windows doesnt show non-connected devices in Device Manager by default.

1) Start > Run > Regedit

2) Navigate to:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Session Manager\\Environment]

3) Create the following value:

Value Name: DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
Value Data: (1 = show all hidden devices)

You'll need to reboot/logoff>on to take effect.

4) Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager
5) View > Show Hidden Devices

You should know what to do from here.
My reality check just bounced.

The R1ED firmware seems buggier than the last - and its not like I'm actually looking for the bugs either!

Another one I've found - when the phone is switched off and on charge, if you unplug the charger the screen lights up then goes off (like normal), but on the screen it says "Calls" above the left hand button and "More" above the right hand button

How so? This firmware is stable and reliable. Is this really a bug or does it hamper your phone in anyway?

Yez it can harm his phone because the signs can burn on to his screen. Thats the whole point of a screensaver that is moving.

Doesn't hamper the phone no, just a little bit annoying. I'm not denying the firmware is stable and reliable, just little obvious niggles can get annoying.

Please, please, please think about what you just said. Are we using tube or plasma technology now? Do you really believe this? Say you are joking or that you really do not know.

Strange : I have CXC1250210 R1CB001 here in the UK, SEUS tells me I have the latest firmware ( dated 060608 ! ). Is there infact a newer one for UK or not , does anyone know ? If so why cannot I get it via SEUS?

Many thanks
