Well your right mizzle.
However, even tho A200 is one of the best os out there(a1 got best os award i think 1 or 2 year back), se, should use more of symbian. Since while SE provides lots of features by default, symbian can be expanded almost to any form you want, even though, by factory, it sucks by features. |

It may be some smartphone UIQ... My P1 handles a lot of apps. it is smartphone though. With my K800, it was giving all it had got with only 5 apps...

It depends on what apps / games you are running at the same time and how much ram/heap memory they are consuming...

I think it also depends on how much phone memory you use. For me only the undeleteable files are on the phone memory all the rest are on the m2

In the previous phone I used (k800), games and apps were in phone memory... I used to change between 2 memory sticks, so I had to keep apps and games on phone memory... Actually, I have tried keeping them on cards... it couldn't run more than 5 apps smoothly...

Well, first of all, that just goes to prove that you're incompetent of starting / participating in such a discussion.
Its operating system is called OSE (Operating System Embedded), developed by a Swedish company called Enea located in Kista, if that rings a bell. OSE is used by quite a few manufacturers, and it's without doubt one of the best mobile operating systems available.
The user interface, added by Sony Ericsson, is called A2, also often referred to as A200. I guess you could also call A2 a software platform based on OSE, adding additional features to the core OS.
Now... what happened to the talk about it not having an OS?

Ok,I have always suspected it,now I know for sure, you haven't got a clue about C/C++/Assembly programming How do I know that fact? To call a embedded OS a OS at all is like calling a train a all terrain vehicle (I hope you get my point) Technicaly a embedded OS is a OS like any other,
but in practice you may encounter the small problem of 'changing' the train's direction while 'bundu bashing'
You see buddy - is easy to look things up on the net and 'copy/paste' them in a forum. The thing is, are YOU adding something in between, (that is where the reasoning comes in and makes the difference between man and mashine)

^^ Let me get this clear and take you to the basics.
Whats the definition of an OS??
An OS acts as a bridge between the user and the system. The fact that you are browsing the phone is proof enough that it has an OS. Most people think that installing apps and having Divx support marks it off as an OS, but thats not the case.
Oh btw, about the Samsung sensor, check out smape or the siberian-man's site You will Know.
Someone was lamenting that samsung sensors are better than sony's. How many DSLR's or SLR's does Samsung sell? Thanx. |

Very curious to know what "14" apps you were able to run as well Mizzle. |

^^Try G900 first. Or BeiBei. Or P1. I did 9 apps on my K850.
About an apps request by Gucci, I don't find an apps like that on J2ME. I using YouTube a lot too. Hopefully Capuchin Project can makes OperaMini with Flash and YouTube support
And I thought all apps that requested by Gucci already provided in SO905iCS and some UIQ phones. Hopefully next-year flagship? Sony already said that they need to work together again as they did two years ago.

Lol when asking about which SE ran 14apps i wanted to know which Java SE he did that with. Lol im aware of that the newer UIQ phones (after P990) can run 14apps and above at once.
Thanx, i thought as much, J2me apps dont cover my needs except for just two.

Huh,you clearly can't/don't (want to) get it bud Read my post again and again and eventually it will 'sink in'. Ofcours it does have a OS, is just not suited in its form to programming/interfacing (most parts are hard vs. firmware programmed). In practice even a modern toaster has a OS. It has a keyboard input where you can punch in how 'well' it must do its job and a read out screen where you can see what if the mashine did get your message You might have a problem thou if you try to make it play a movie.
Let's leave it there -

Thats not the point. Well, the so called crap OS plays all files except Divx and avi. |
