Bluetooth is ment to work within about 100m's although i've never managed to get it to work that far apart before. You don't need a direct line of sight between the two phones either.
I was sat in Pizza hut the other day and saw a young lad (only about 10) sat on the table near me. I noticed he had a T610 (the same as me so I quickly pulled out my phone and searched the area to see if he had bluetooth turned on (he did). I change my phone name to "orange", took a picture of a bottle of coke (don't ask why a bottle of coke) and set it 2 him...It took him a while untill he accepted it but in the end he did. I thought it was pretty funny+he did look quite confused. |

Yes, only ten meters, so far! They have developed a new blutooth standard wich has a 100 meters range. The Z1010 uses the new standard.A must for Jellyellie, then she can bluejack even more. But then theres no sport to it anymore

100m would be no fun because the whole point in 10m is that it must be someone nearby you

it is only 10M and the other device must have it's bluetooth on/discoverable.

Oh, I dunno - I'd like more range. I would find it useful because I could sit in my garden and bluejack all the commuters who come out of the trainstation near where I live and have parked their poxy cars in the street as opposed to paying the station car parking fees, meaning none of the residents can park their cars in their own road.
I don't send unpleasant messages but I'd be bloody tempted to tell them exactly where to stick their business briefcases, corner first - if I could get all of them en masse, even better. I think in the summer I'll be taking my laptop and bt usb adapter out into the garden, as that has more range than my phone ...
I've just walked what feels like miles from the car with bags of shopping and stuff from two streets away, grumble grumble.
Have any of you guys got anyone from a moving vehicle ? I hit someone a few nights ago as we drove past the bus queue !
