The Sync summary does not indicate whether it is due to the phone or computer. Where can I set the OBEX timing on my computer? I am using Win XP2.

I don't think you can set the OBEX timing. It is probably a communications error as the timing is usually set by the software. Have you done the customary, turn off and on the phone, un-install and re-install the software? I am not a Windows person, Mac and Linux so I can not be much help there.
Sorry.

I have done those actions but the problem still persist. Thanks anyway. |

Wow. I haven't been on the forums for a while, and now a R1EJ001 pops up?!?! Darn, there goes my money for R1ED from Wotan!

OK well for fun I just plugged my K790i and updated through SEUS to R1EG001. Even though I have an East Asian Language model (APAC, to be exact) it didn't update to R1EJ001 or whatever was mentioned on the first page.
For now, one difference I notice is that the "fade to bright" (ie. from unlocking to brightness) transition is a lot smoother now.
Will report more as the days go by. |

looking at the k750i firmware post you'll find that the R1N035 generic firmware was released on seus on the 12th Sept 2005 however the o2 version was not available for a further 4 weeks (ok there were a few problems i believe) the orange version was available within 2 weeks of the generic version being available on seus.
so hopefully branded users dont have too long to wait but you never know. there might not be any release at all.

Exactly Gavin,
I have said this post after post after post. There is no garantee that there will be a release for branded users. No one says that there has to be any releases at all. However this is lost on almost everyone here. SE has not, in any document I have read, stated that they will release updates. They state that from time to time they MAY release an upgrade. The continued complaining and demanding that SE release an upgrade is pointless, and shows a lack of sophistication and a propensity to dwell on the non-sequitor. Having a functioning purchase is a right but many of the issues that are popping are the products of too much idle time and not enough understand that when you design and develop things, they tend to not be perfect.

Awesome, thanks very much. The reason I didn't get that is because on my handset that button is a red phone with a line through it and doesn't look at all like the handset you post a pic of. Never realised voda had custom keypads as well as firmware and branding on the outside of the phone.

Hi mattdale,
If I've read your post correctly this button should now be the one you are looking for to provide the same function.

Other findings of R1ED001:
Just sent a snapshot to my existing blog, which was created already sometime ago with my R1CB001--having posted successfully all the time though. But, guess what? I got a text from Blogger along with the token and the new blog address! So, can others verify this also? Why wasn't my photo sent to the existing blog I have so far? I didn't make any changes in the blog site. |

Nope, I have R1ED001 also. Same blog as before the upgrade, though.
BTW, is there any way to change the address? For example, if the phone has to be replaced, or if you buy a new one, or if you want to upload to the same blog from two different phones?
I still haven't found any new bugs or inconveniences introduced in the new FW version, even though there are some that still seem to remain, the limit of 10 entries in the code memory, or the unability to scroll the playlist in "now playing" mode in the music player, for example.
I don't quite unerstand the reason for the delay of the internet button. I have put an address to a local page in the phone there, so I don't need to connect to the internet.
Does anyone know if the SMTP problem (using a SMTP server that does not require authorization failed unless you specified it's IP address instead of it's DNS name) is fixed in this FW version? I haven't tested yet. |

Is anyone able to tell me what the difference is between the SE updated and the updates available from various sites such as WOTAN and DaVinci?
Do the others work as well as the official ones? |

eyecue for me it said no update available? I can't find anything wrong that I have done. ugonly thing is that my battery is about 80% charged instead of full. That shouldn't be a problem though :S
