@Hob The problem with the bobejans and farmers is too 'complicated' and sensitive to discuss/debate here.Is sad because their hi intelligence is also their undoing and intelligence is the one thing I value most. Sadly some has to be killed for others to live .Jakals, leopards etc and humans (farmers) don't go along. When I come to africa 21y ago,I thought, hunters are cruel people, exploiting wildlife but after working at a private game range close to Phalaborwa for a few years,I began to get a glimps of the underlying issues. You know in Mozambique there are no hunters - a paradys for wildlife would one think - Not so And yes,I have been there (by car and small aircraft). Did you knew that in Kruger half of all buffalo (and other carnivor species eating their meat) have/ and some die of TB ? Also the Elephants are a huge ecological problem. Guess what, apart of random, isolated poaching, no hunting is allowed! And few private ranges want Kruger's game because of disease. The vets are fighting a loosing battle 'under the table' and lots of animals get 'quietly' shot out of the public's eye You know - there is a difference between reality and idealism. The europeans have changed africa for ever. So,lets leave this right here.
@Ama, I see London has its fair share of civilians assaulting police members. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1440344.ece
Is ironic, only a few weeks ago I had a 'heated' IM conference discussion (about 12 police man all over the world). The majority were accusing me/the saps for been to brutal and provoking 'the crowd'.I can't wait for the 2 British police constables I know to log on msn
(I hope the link is ok this time around)

@ Mario:
I'm sure that you're aware that The Sun is the UK's biggest selling (tabloid) newspaper i.e. (sensationalising rubbish IMHO); even the inimitable British comedian Jasper Carrott summed it up so well when he had a bogus article made up about him by a Sun journalist:
"I honestly think that the average journalist who works for The Sun has all the brains of an amoeba..."

LOL, I'm not saying there may not be elements of truth in the article, but The Sun is certainly not renowned for being paragons of the gospel truth..
Those 2 Pom PC's that you mentioned would more than likely point this out too.

Hmm . . . then you suggest is a 'made up story'. Did not think of that. On the other hand,if the incident really happened as reported,I wonder what exactly are you try to justify/stand for? Mob justice is not justice - no matter how 'reasonable' it may seem and regardles where it takes place.People are quick to condemn it when it happenes in a poor country, yet when it happens on you door step - let's blame the news paper But then again, you are entitled to your opinion too
I guess we are heading for a 'conflict discussion' of which I had my fair share on this forum Once again I suggest to 'Lets leave it here'. Wish you all a nice weekend

@ Mario:
I'm certainly in no position to quantify how much of the story is based on facts or not; it might've happened as per reported but with The Sun being the most renowned (and best-selling) tabloid newspaper, it's very hard to gauge the level of authenticity.
It may well be worth still referring to the article to those two PC's and see what their reaction is...

Without meaning to generate any "conflict discussion" on the topic, I remember brix and I discussing Snoop Doggy Dogg's run-in with the cops here, where I mentioned my view that, with the exception of zero tolerance to terrorist threats, the cops are too leniant here (IMHO):

http://www.esato.com/board/vi[....]c=74383&start=5490#post1634229

I really do feel for the cops here, having to (within reason) 'follow protocol' by the way they approach such abuse etc. But wouldn't it be fair to say that cops state-side (they don't get much bigger than New York, for example) manage to uphold the law more effectively with a greater level of zero tolerance? And as we know, the good ol' US of A ain't exactly one of those "poorer countries", is it?
But hey, that's just my opinion and as someone who isn't exactly qualified or experienced in law enforcement; just trying to think more laterally.

BTW, have a nice weekend there too.

You luck sod, LOL. That's a stunning handset! Love the angular lines and details on it.
Just wish they put a flash with that 3.2mp cam... and a card slot. (although 4Gigs is more than enough for the majority of people.

The Wallabies were definitely the better team today. We sucked...

So i popped into Bidorbuy yesterday while i was parked outside the Spar, scouting about for an emergency charger for my nephew when i stumbled across an N73 pegged at just under R1k, with about 30min to go to close of auction. By the time Mrs.K had returned from Spar i had bid on the phone, and by the time i got home, and about R1100 later i was the owner of the N73. It ought to arrive sometime next week, but the first step will be to flash the firmware from that horrid Vodafone shyte to something more generic.

Mario, the way i see it, nothing short of martial law is going to bring about a halt to the lawlessness here. The time *may it never happen, touch wood* may well come that Parliament decides to suspend certain provisions of the Constitution and send in the army to assist you guys. I'd hate to see a return to the 70s/80s, but something drastic is maybe needed.

Congrats Kryptik!!! You must also get a 2GB MiniSD for it,they are dirt cheap now! N73 is still a sweet device especialy for pics and music. A friend of mine recently changed the covers of his N73 from the Silver Grey/Deep Plum to Frost White/Metallic Red and it looks great!

Thanx boet, it always takes me an eternity to acquire/dispose of a Symbian handset. I'm tracking some memory cards on bidorbuy, so i'll pick up either a 2gb or 4gb within the next few days as well. I'd buy one of them on the BuyNow option right now, but Absa's internet banking service has been up to utter shyte the past few days, and i hate buying something and not paying immediately, not to mention my great dislike of standing in those damned queues at the bank.
