I´ve just lost interest on the 3gs again...just saw prices for no contract version on Italy...600 and 700 euros (16 and 32gb version)! I imagine prices here will be similar.

hi there
I got a question to ask. When I upgrade to OS 3.0, is there a way to restore biteSMS as I purchased the full license?
I believe I know the answer, but perhaps mine is wrong.
Thanks!

So what time is Firmware 3.0 getting released? It's 6:40pm on the 17th here and I'm beginning to get impatient.

I tried before work this morning (7am BST, Wednesday June 17th) and no deal. Presumably we're working to US time on this one, so it will actually be pretty late on the 17th (or even early on the 18th) for most of the rest of us..
It's a shame they can't automate the release across the timezones so we all get it at the right time for us - that would help them stagger the server load too.

I was thinking the same thing. As far as buzz around the internet/positive attitude towards Apple it would pay to roll it out across timezones.

Some not great news here - http://www.engadget.com/2009/[....]-3-0-release-still-hours-away/
Looks like at least another 7 hours or so from now, wherever you are..

Aaah... nice work.
"...That would peg an OS 3.0 release anytime between 1700 and 1930 in London or between noon and 2:30pm in New York..."
Which would be about 5am here in Auckland, same as the WWDC keynote. Oh well, off to bed then.
Thanks Boinng

Hmm - the Register are claiming that Apple have said the software is delayed until "tomorrow" - http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/06/17/iphone_3/
I find the article a bit sus though, since it's very vague generally on how this was announced (before 9.51 GMT apparently) and it's not been picked up or reported anywhere else. I can't find anything to back this up on the Apple site, which still says June 17th. Also, the article's by Bill Ray, who'll generally use any excuse to take a cheap shot at the iPhone and its users... so I wonder if this is just a poor writeup of the "story" that the OS won't be coming out till later today, which will be tomorrow for some of us outside the US...
EDIT - lack-of-panic over, the Reg have admitted their mistake - http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/06/17/iphone_3_not_delayed/
EDIT 2 - the terrible thing is, since they've clearly embarrassed themselves The Register have taken both these stories off the front page. But while the first incorrect story above is still there if you click the link, the second one - correcting it and admitting they got it wrong - has been deleted altogether. Bit pathetic really.

There are lots of rumours but the semi-official time I keep seeing is 6pm (BST). That makes sense as it's roughly the same time as the WWDC keynote last week and seems to be when Apple starts it's day..
