i see @Scots

there are people that i respect for there patience, there are people i respect for there humor, and there are people i respect for there moral opinions. i guess respect is the same thing accross the board. so i feel people that have been mentioned are justified.

i know what you mean, you mean 'name dropping' in a way to try and gain respect themselves, but how can we tell them apart? [addsig]

Yeah, excellent point there, how do we tell if people are just trying to get noticed?

Anyway, i respect laffen, he's such a nice guy, does a great job, and has a cracking six-pack.

What happened to my last post? It seems to have disappeared!

@batesie

Essentially it is the name dropping thing that I was meaning, people mentioning people just because they are friendly with them.

It's not a scientific process, I was really just looking for opinions. I'm a little surprised that the thread is still going actually! Internet culture is an interest of mine and how people interact on forums can be jolly interesting.

Here is my last post again:

One of courses respects one's friends, but there are different kinds of respect. Respecting someone as a friend is fine, but that isn't really why I created this thread. I was interested to find out who people most respect on here, not just a list of one's friends and people one likes, but rather who people look to, whether they be friends, enemies or indifferent. By all means include a friend if that is who you most respect, but it does seem to have gone down the route of "Why not mention me?" or "Better include so and so" at points.
