Domi; as I've said before, expect 6-10mb. Not 3, not 42... |

Maybe this has been brought up before, but anyway.
In the initial press release it stated the V800 would weigh 128 g. Today when i looked at SE's website (and pressed compare phones) it said 110 g. Also the was * which explained that that was with the normal battery, so it has nothing to do with that. Maybe I'm "old", but I think this is great news!
About the memory, it dos not say on their site yet, which could mean that it has not yet been decided... I hope it will be larger that 3 MBs, but then, when you can use MSDP, how much dos it really matter?
I hope this phone will be out soon, I really long for it |

I'm guessing the phone can still be used even without 3G. If you look at MobileBurn, they show the V800 using Cingular's network. |

Don't all 3G phones (if unlocked) work on non-3G networks? Just without the 3G functions
Vodafione has announced local release in December for Holland

true but that is a global spec for 802SE (what it the difference between that one and usual v800 anyway?). if you check UK (or german or swedish, or whatever) and press compare phones, it dos not state memory-size. maybe there is still hope |

Could be that V802SE only got 3mb free for the user, cause the japanese letters demand more space...
V800 got more than 3mb free for user.
randomtask77; The reason you can see Cingular on the phone is because it's a prototype. The prototypes are only to be used within SE and of course SE decide if they want to lock the phone to Vodafones net or not.
If the phone lock will be "hacked" it will be possible to use it on other 3G nets, and of course also on 2G net (but with some anoying stuff like it will search for 3G and not always give you 2G...). But it wont be possible to debrand it cause there is no unbranded software for V800. |

can anyone confirm these two things?:
1. can it use mp3-songs as ringsignals?
2. is the weight 128 or 110 grams?
and one more thing,
the swedish site www.mobil.se wrote thieir impressions of the V800 yesterday. it was pretty brief but if you subscribe to the magazine you could get some more info. now, dos anybody here subscribe to mobil? if so, could you please post that info? that would be very nice |

i dun live in UK but i wanna know... if i can juz buy the phone without any vodafone contract?? and if possible... than does the branded vodafone V800 will work with other sim card... or u still have to use vodafone sim.....??? |

02; You can only use Vodafone. It will be sim-locked to Vodafone.
(but if (when) the phone will be hacked, You'll be able to use other operators after removing sim-lock.
MP3:s can be used as ringtones, but I'm not sure if it will be only DRM-signed ones by Vodafone, by anyone, or even without DRM. |

It will allow only DRM-protected MP3's as ringtones. But DRM-protection does not necessarily have to come from VF...
