It's a nice phone indeed. May be old model, but it's solid, quality made phone, handsome, looks classy, and for that what it's meant- talking- it's great.

What I really liked with this T39m are:
1. It is a flip-type fone.
2. It has a stout external antenna.
3. Bluetooth
4. GPRS
5. Elegantly looking . . . |

@bobafett - Yes, and you are just ONE of the very FEW members here who 'resuscitates' old Ericsson issues in your thread with @ivan . . . Nice effort though! |

Well, honestly... at the heart of all current SE models are all the technology developed by Ericsson way back.. even the current P910 is about 80% Ericsson technology, this includes UIQ which was created and developed by Ericsson... code named Quartz back then... but the skeletal structure of the OS was already complete..tabbed menu and all. Everything that the P800 came with was already actually ready for production as an Ericsson phone... although Ericsson's was supposed to have GPS as well.
I personally feel that when Sony and Ericsson merged, Sony should've contributed cash, manufacturing, and distribution... Ericsson still should've handled research, design, technology.
For me, the biggest thorn that Sony introduced into the mix is their MemoryStick crap... but then, that's business.
With the current phones... I am glad however that Sony is starting to provide the CCDs for the cameras... for whatever it's worth, Sony does make decent digicams... and at least they can maximize their obsolete CCDs by passing them onto SE.
I still miss Ericsson though. I miss their Scandanavian inspired designs. I miss the classy handset designs. I miss their elegance and refinement, that's something Sony took away. But oh well... technology will always change... as will the companies that make them.
