R8A upgrade is now available in Malaysia (Ericserve Sdn Bhd). Ericserve can be contacted at +603 7958 6922. I'm gonna get my phone upgraded today. My current firmware version is R5D

Got my phone upgraded to the new R8A. No major difference can be found. Menus scrolling seems to be a bit faster. That's all. SMS tone slightly higher than the previous R5D. No new games.

Firmware upgrade can be done for free if your phone is still under warranty. If it is no longer under warranty, you need to pay a small amount. In Malaysia they usually charge abt RM 50 (USD 14). It takes about 45 minutes to get my phone upgraded.

No need to backup your data. No data loss at all.

karthiklax it can be the service provider's problem also. sometimes my sister's nokia does the same thing, mine old t10 and new t68i also, rebooting (sometimes just retrying) could help

Yes my T68mc also like rebooting after I upgreat it to R5A
but after I did a reset. It has less rebooting

R8A015 is now available for the T68(m). Still no extra games in the US version.

Hi - upgraduing my gold T68 from R5 to R6 today at Carphone warehouse - they said R8 was not compatible with the T68, only the T68i. Do they mean simply that they don't YET have a T68-compatible R8?

Steven.

'doliver' - I've got firmware upgrade queries too, but unlike you, I've read every post in this thread. How many times you gonna post the same questions. Read this thread then you'll have the answers!

T68mc is the old T68 w/ a Chinese character/input...w/ yellow keypad lights...the upgraded version of it is the T68ie

maybe they don't have the flash files yet...when i upgraded my T68i (on the 1st week of release of the R8A), our service center told me that upgrade was only available for original T68i units (not the upgraded "m" units)...2 weeks after they announced that the upgrade was already available for all versions of T68 (i, ie & the m/mc upgraded to i/ie units).

My friend have a t68ie and i have a t68mc(upgraded). I can't find there is any different in hardware but I don't think they are the same thing.Don't tell me one is made by E the other is made by SE.

The bugs in the new games really suck. R9xxx must come soon. Best with mophun implemented...

I can't realize why SE don't implement Mophun in T68i. They would increase their market when they would do it and they would make us customers happy. Next time for example I will buy a Siemens. They all have Java and speed and software is also much better than by SE. If they don't care about the wishes of the customers (give us mophun !!!!) customers will buy phones of other companys next time which care more about their customers (Nokia, Siemens, etc.). They all implemented Java in their old phones (see for exaple Siemens SL45, S45, ...). And SE: Makes nothing, although it is possible.

************
I'm really angry. And I'm not alone with this opinion.

R9xxx with mophun. DO IT!
