Even though that's the reason why we carry and practice with our firearms, most gun owners hope it never comes to that. Anyway, when push comes to shove, I wouldn't think twice. As they say " mabuti nang managot kesa panagutan".

my interest in guns is probably just the same for most boys. all of us probably got thru the same, "normal" programming by parents (or grandparents) - boys get their guns, and girls get their dolls.

i dunno if it's a passing interest. i'm the kind of person who's willing to try new things. right now, i have this itch for trying shooting but realized that it's such an expensive hobby/sport.

anyway, what .22LR models would you recommend for plinking?

btw, i just found out the K3 is no longer in production. what do you think of walther p22 or the bereta u22?

TIA

@GOwin
Sorry about the K3's, to begin with P7's have always been hard to find here in our local gun shops as demand isn't that great and they're quite expensive, another beef with them is that they are hard to take apart and clean because of their gas system.

Regarding . 22 LR handguns, there are lots to choose from, but from personal experience, for semi-auto, I would recommend any of the Ruger MK II series pistols as they are very durable ,very reliable and very accurate, same with the smith&wesson model 41. If you want a revolver the S&W model 617 or 17 is great(used to be the K-22).

The Beretta u22 neos is too "funky" for my taste and looks like a spacegun, though it must be a great shooter as Beretta's are known for their quality. The Walther p22 looks like a great pistol, haven't fired one, but the one I've handled at Nashe comes with an accessory barrel and scope and is as expensive as the aformentioned Ruger but comes with more goodies at P35,000. It looks like a mini p99 and that adds to its appeal. I would go for the Ruger though, it won't give you any headaches. Its available at any Twin Pines store.

yeah arizona is a lucky state. dont they ever wonder why the west and east coast (namely california, NY, etc), who prohibits civilians from carrying guns, has the largest crime rate. while arizona....who allow firearms to be carried openly, has a low crime rate?

now that PTC and PTT requests are so prohibitive with all those BS requirements, not to mention very expensive... everyone tend to do it the illegal way. and with that news about another BS for PTT... will just cause civilians to carry guns without license. we, the law abiding citizens, are now all defenseless against all those scums who carry guns without "legal" PTT (holduppers, snatchers, drug addicts, kidnappers, goons, etc). dont you think the criminals are now all rejoicing? can you imagine Gowin just wanting to plink on cans with a 22LR... will have to go thru all the BS of PTT (not to mention going thru all the BS just to OWN one).... while our criminals hold-up FX and jeepneys and elsewhere, abduct people even in the malls, hold up a bank, etc....with M-16s and 1911s?

@boysaint - start of gun ban is December 16, 2003, ends 6 months later. And the FED just started to approve PTTs for shotguns, do we still have time?! Pwede pa tayo humabol sa Antipolo. I'm not sure, but I think the new Antipolo shooting range is owned by Twin Pines.
btw, Missouri, USA gun enthusiasts are ecstatic about their newly approved law allowing concealed carry guns. Frank and Joji can now carry their little pistols while we go hunting!!!

The gunless society people must be laughing their asses of by their perceived victory over us gun owners when in fact the tighter restrictions have shown nothing to show that crime has gone down. On the contrary, it seems to be on the upswing. God, I hope we get an administration that is more in touch with reality as this current useless and inept one, not just for us gun owners but for the country in general. The big question is, WHO? are we filipinos really that bereft of competent people to lead us...

yeah! i myself am glad we can now carry side-arms on our missouri hunting this coming winter. i wasn't really that comfortable carrying just those 270Win / 280Rem bolt actions, which are heavy for me. and somewhat cumbersome and not too ready at close range. i was always worried a surprised puma or a crazed wolverine or bobcat may jump on my face then. and am sure glad those grizzlys, copperheads and rattlers are all hibernating during winter. G17... i'll never forget how you scared that 6-pointer stag, hahahhah!

while here.... not so good. lets hope Precious of TG in EDSA has a way to have your PTT for your 12-guage... before x-mas.

we both love that movie "the professional (now titled Leon on DVD)" but sorry to disappoint you... jean reno's paint ball gun there in that movie is really fiction. there is no way a paintball gun can be designed to be shaped like an FN-FAL. there should be a gravity basket to carry the pink balls, and should be on top of the gun. and definitely there should be a pressure-tube (or pressurized tank) to fire the pink balls. and this should be replaceable. hence it is placed exposed on real paintball guns. so there.... all paintball guns will always be shaped like paintball guns. and real guns will be what they are now.

like what doc said, we all hope we dont have to use our guns to take a life, just to protect our loved ones and property. but wouldn't think twice using it in face of the situation that asked for it.

we have stopped numerous big trouble tho', just by flashing the holstered gun... not firing. not pointing. thats enough. we can even say we have saved our lives by doing that.

There is such a thing as a marking or paint pellet round, which is made of small frangible paint pellets ala magsafe's design, which LEO's in the states use for training. It is only LEO, I know that it is available in the pistol calibers, although I'm not sure if its available in .308 for the FN-FAL, maybe that's what they used in the movie(haven't seen it,btw).

Regarding our electoral system, I know what you mean, maybe we should emulate the electoral college system used in the U.S. which prevents mobocracy which plagues us here.

Got it.Nice. What kind of sights do you have on your Glock? Millet? Don't care much for the stock plastic sights on the 30, but the new stock adjustable sights are better than what they used to have which was flimsy. I want to change the plastic front site with a metal one.
