The funny thing is, i love the phone just like i did the 4 and 4S.

But after just finishing reading the GSM Arena review of it, i have to agree with them, the innovation has dried up and the phone barely keeps up with the competition.

I had a play with the iphone 5 and bono is right, very pale screen. I also held it and OMG it just feels like a toy / non working demo model, which could be broken easy. Im dubious over the build quality. I dont like it and to be honest its ugly, just an elongated iphone 4! I just dont understand the hype over it. Id rather have a 4s (but you would have to shoot me first lol) over this piece of rubbish.

Roll on my next phone to be a windows phone or Xperia V!!!

Apple need to stretch the sides out abit on the next iPhone I think
otherwise its basically the same as usual I wouldn't swap my 4S for it
even if I got the chance to upgrade (4G just isn't 100% yet so pointless upgrade)

iOS 6 is the same on my 4S as the 5th phone anyway!

oviousley when I do upgrade next year I hope Apple bin that backplate for a non wearable
material fingers crossed anyway

I finally got to see a white working iPhone 5 its defo better in white

the dimensions are perfect for one handed use.. 16:9 @ 4 inches is a good formula. I still think the N9 is the perfect phone size wise, but the iphone 5 comes close.. the 808 is not bad either, it looks way bigger on pics than it feels in real life.

And how can you call that ugly ?

it's ugly because it's a stretched iphone4,. let me see if I stretched a sgs3 or a xperia T they would look stupid,. this how the how iphone should of look,. it's out of proportion and really looks like a remote control! Plus to hold it I was very disappointed, feels cheap and the 4s feels a better build quality! Top it off with io6 being an almost close to gingerbread is a disaster and really the status of the iphone being the cool phone it ain't!

If Apple had some proportion with the a phone maybe at 4.2 inch it would look nice,. even the rumours and the cg mockups were much better looking than the finished product! Apple lack ambition and innovation and it shows in the 5, for now Samsung is king!

Lol chunky. I think the biggest let down of the iPhone
5 is its backplate it marks to easily and therefore makes
It look cheap honestly hope apple bin that aluminium off in the
Next phone!!!

Ur right about it being over stretched also I keep saying
It needs more stretch on the sides

its not "stretched" .. its just that Apple finally joined the party of 16:9 aspect ratio, which is way better, but you need a bigger screen. Nokia tried doing it on a 3.5 incher, (nokia n8) and it was a bit too narrow for the keyboard. The iphone dimension are almost perfect, and it looks fine.

The aluminum thing.. ya, they should have called up Nokia and asked what they did it on the N8, because its way more durable

@ Miss UK - im surprised you're mentioning the back plate because you've said before you hate plastic phones like the Galaxy S3 and S2, yet they're more durable than glass phones or aluminium phones. Maybe you should try a plastic phone once more ?

Ive dropped my SGS3 twice in four months of ownership and its glass front and plastic case have survived without a scratch or dent. Ususally i dont drop my phones.

@ Bonovox - thats hilarious about holding the phone wrong. Its not that at all, i think its probably something to do with this new sapphire glass for the lens cover. I remember my N8 had worse lens flare than other phones because of its wider angle lens but once you learnt how to avoid it wasnt a problem. The problem with the iPhone 5 is the fact you get flares which are fake in colour thus ruining the colours in the rest of the image.

Ive gotta admit, i think i prefer the 4S looks even though the screen now seems miniscule compared to my SGS3. The 5's screen does look odd in pictures and like a remote control like Chunkybeats said but in person its not so bad.

My sister saw my SGS3 for the first time the other day and asked for a play with it. She quickly gave it me back when she realised just how much more slick and beautiful it was compared to her iPhone 4. I have to admit however, i did whack the screen brightness to maximum to show off its Super Amoled in HD just to show it off compared to her tiny screened phone. Sneaky. LMFAO.

I certainly don't think the iPhone is worth the money it is. When you open it up insides just look like nothing much. As for the term your holding it wrong they also said that about the antenna gate fiasco. @etaab GSM Arena I noticed listed a rather long list of negatives.

Heh, theres not much inside any phone these days. Usually its the battery which takes up the most space.

Have you seen the Galaxy S3 and S2 motherboards ? they're mere strips of circuitry and the rest of the phone is plastic, components like camera modules and thats it.

The other issue for me with the 5 is it can take pictures in videos like the S3 and One X, but only in 2mp !!

eh ??

not on my end. Stable LTE connection, 1 day battery life on heavy to moderate usage.

Etaab. we'll see I cannot get another phone till Dec next year im planning on moving back to
my old provider to I think (Orange EE just isn't for me)

I think my 4S is a much better build then the iPhone 5, glass may smash but it is more durable
unlike aluminum if apple have not sorted this backplate out before I can get a new phone next year
then i will be forced to move to something else (HTC/Sony) not samsung I don't like those sorry

might even have a look at Blackberry (Chavberry)
or even the Nokia Win 0S phones!

I would like HTC to come back with something though the One X is a lovely bit of kit
