I dont know why you guys are getting so worked up for..Its only logical that you would connect your xperia P to 2 hdtvs(+ 1 using the built in hdmi output)simoulatenously, instead of lame usb devices such as flash drives, keyboard, mouse, gaming controllers, usb powered speakers and what not.

Wait, it seems I was wrong for the HDMI port - after checking the old SmartDock specs it seems that it already had BOTH - two usb AND HDMI. That makes it even worse - with the new dock SONY actually gets rid of 50% of its functionality in favour of... bluetooth! DAFUQ?!? Because the P has no build-in bluetooth???

No, really, there's something really f*cked up in Sony - instead of making the new generation products more advanced, they just cut the best features of the current one, put some useless but well/bad advertised sh*t and release it as a new one.

@djin - Xperia P has no build-in HDMI, when you put it on the dock. But still - ditching the two usb ports is the most stupid decision they could take now. Anyway, as I said earlier, that just Sony - like.no.other . Because no other can be so stupid.

The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

Furthermore, this is what I call dock station - http://www.phonearena.com/rev[....]-Multimedia-Dock-Review_id2669 . Before you plug your phone you have microUSB, microHDMI and 3.5 headphone jack, and after you plug it - microUSB, microHDMI, 2x3.5 headphone jack and 3xUSB, additional port for the adapter and your phone turns into a miniPC ( check out the video ).

And this is what I call crap - http://www.xperiablog.net/201[....]aces-smartdock-launches-in-q3/ . Before you plug your phone you have microUSB, microHDMI and 3.5 headphone jack, and after you plug it - microUSB, microHDMI and 3.5 headphone jack again + second bluetooth, not something useful anyway. So the only practical function of Xperia's dock is to work as a stand? And you're gonna pay so much for that? C'mon, I can do a better one by myself for free - just give me a piece of cardboard, glue and colored paper and you'll have a better looking stand in less than five minutes!

I'm receiving mine this week... are there any tricks that I should do to extend battery life like in the Xperia S?

Are there any recommended first steps as soon as I get it?

Thanks

Got it 2 days ago.

So far, very happy with it. Still too early to talk about the battery and I definitely need to check whether the camera is any good. Only took a couple of pictures so far and I'm not impressed.

Have been using it for 5 days now and I'm very pleased with nearly everything.

The only issue I'm finding is with the Camera... I'm not happy with the focus so far. Is there any way to improve camera performance?

The screen is gorgeous and the battery life is not a problem at all. I never switch off Wi-Fi nor Data usage, use Internet a lot, play some cards games, make few calls, send a few SMSs and it's lasting me for more around 27 hours on its 3rd life cycle.

So far i have not read any complains regarding the focus (seems to work as expected), so what exactly does not work for you ?

The camera is not capable of a perfect focus, except in outdoors pictures.

I don't feel it as being superior to my Xperia Mini to be honest...

Yesterday i´ve updated my Xperia P to the latest firmware over PC Companion. Now there are serveral network issues! Randomly the network connection drops, also the data connection. First i think about a hardware issues and defective sim card. Sim card is changed, firmware is flashed again and the problem still exists - mainly in GSM mode, it looks like the 3G mode is working without connection drops...
Ciao

My Xperia U also has focus issues. Not taking pics but poor focus during video recording. So both phones may have same issue. In good lighting no problems. But I filmed a daytime thunderstorm yesterday on my phone and the continuous AF was very poor
