I'm happy that i bought T68m. Cause the new covers looks awful. Only thing is that i have hw R1A and that proparly has something like R3A (Well it has R1A but i think that R1A hw in T68i is equal to R3A in T68m.). Still a happy owner of T68m. I think they said that when they showed the T68m the first time that it has something like 600kt memory, so i think that the memory will be the same. Mayby T68i has a better proseccor mayby not. One thing is sure that the softwares in T68m and in T68i will be the same. Just cant wait to get it to my phone on MONDAY 4.3.2002.

About the MMS software: We know that T68i has the MMS software and it is R1A. But i dont think that it will be R1A in our phones, cause T68i is a different phone. I was wondering that will it be R2B or R3A. Most certainly it wont be R1A cause then the next software would be R1B and there is allready a R1B software.

I asume that it will be R3A.

The retail value of T68m will propably drop a bit. Damn

Well n e wayz, long live the king . (Well ofcourse Nokia and Samsung has great phones too.)

Edit: Damn i ihave typos in my text... well dont me.

Dunno if this has been posted before, but its a noticable frame around the screen on the new T68i. Great feature, since the normal T68 is quite easily scratched...

Merkus: What kind of contact do you have? If it is okay for me to ask though

If you are so absolutely sure about it. Then we don't need to discuss it anymore. So the software for the T68i will be the SAME on the T68 after the upgrade. But STILL! I have one important question, how will it be with memory? Does T68 have enough memory to contain the new software? And of course, all the 56 image backgrounds? Merkur, or somebody else, please answer!:) Got to know it.

Second question: Why isn't there any "T68i" text at the bottom of the phone?

In the first place T68m was going to have the MMS software. So the answer is YES.

Just some thoughts about the SW versions.
As you can se in this picture, http://www.aperfectaudience.com/t68i5_s.jpg, the version in t68i is R1A(123) and in the old t68m there is R2A(013). The difference is the 3 numbers you all forget. 123 and 013 is a BIG difference... If I´m not all wrong, thats the number that says how many changes were made since the last SW upgrade (R2AXXX -> R2BXXX)...

Now, lets get one thing straight.

The only reason for SonyEricsson to lanch a "new" T68 model is that they need a model with there name on.
Am i the only one to notice that there has been absolutley NO advertisments of the T68 so far? This is because SonyEricsson cannot advertise an Ericsson phone. That would be like Nokia making adverts for Samsung or something like that...

T68i is EXACLY the same phone as T68, BUT it offers a new shell design, with the SonyEricsson logo! Nothing more! The software in T68i can be installed in T68, and they will both have the same performance (memory, build quality and so on)!

Don't worry! Sony Ericsson will not let you down!

Ok! Thanks, nice information there I havent noticed that Ericsson have cut out the commercials for the T68. Cool thing that you noticed.

But is the 56 background in the MMS package? I'm stilling worried about memory loss on the T68, in compariseon with the T68i

It seems to me that this T68i is only the first prototype for the T68m. Ericsson didn't put MMS into the released T68m because there was no point, and for some reason severely removed other things from the phone(chat, pictures, etc.). Maybe the other features needed testing or something. Why would they want to change the T68m to look like the T68i? That would also be why it has software version R1A. Is there a way of finding when ericssons are manufactured. I know its possible on nokias with the right code.
I would guess in march the update will be only software based(R3A maybe) to include MMS and everything else, and maybe they'll also release a new hardware revision(R3A too) which which be called the T68i. So if you want the new hardware, just invent some hardware based problem with the phone, or if you just want the new software, get that.

guys who gives a shit about hardware,i think my t68m is built to last lets not get carried away or greedy here about wanting everything the t68i has and in reality the only differences that the one will have with the other is the brandname mainly and a little lifting thats it all t68i features are the mms upgrade im telling you ericsson would not risk it the t68 back in october promised the t68 with mms capabilities so no need to worry and i think its better that they did that due to no need in having mms 4 months ago,and since there are no official t68i release from sonyericsson then we are dealing with the same phone its just the t68i due to marketing reasons high tech freaks would sell there t68 and buy the t68i (major mistake)alright the price will drop due to no mms support on the t68 but a simple upgrade is the answer to it all,the only thing that concerns me is will there be a charge for this upgrade and if yes then the t68m price will drop,if no then the price will remain the same....5 days to go 4th of march 2002!!!!

Your right john74, this hardware stuffs, whats the big deal...when you bought the T68m only the mms and its acompanied features will be present, not this big memory and some other stuffs. So what if theres this T68i, the looks sucks, I still love my T68m, especially the back part, I think the T68i has gone some material cost cutting!!!

What ever this T68i is, it doesn't bother me, coz Its still an Ericsson phone!!!

The hardware on T68i is R1A. This means that both T68 and T68i has the same hardware and the same ammount of memory. Why should you so big deal of this? IT IS THE SAME THING INSIDE

Well, I cannot tell you "WHO" thold this to me, but he is a very reliable source.

The T68's we own and use today have enough memory. There is plenty of memory installed to make it ready for all those applications!
There is one thing the new software adds to the T68, better image quality! Now that's something I've been waiting for.

I also forgot to mention that charging for the MMS update is completely up to the Service Point.
