No, because those are of some use. Im talking about the hundreds of thousands of novelty apps. Clever use of sarcasm there to defend a flawed OS.
Could you run all those apps simultaneously ? Just give us a yes or no answer to that question for simplicity..

No. Is the ability to multitask an office editor with a photo stitcher the sign of OS superiority?
I'm not here to defend the iPhone. It doesn't need defending. Of course the haters will be picking on areas where their own favorite phones are better. If that makes you happy then feel free, go on...

Like i said, a simple no would have done.
Oh and yes, the ability to multitask is a sign of OS superiority. Can you imagine applying such a thing if it were to concern Windows versus Mac ?

Good point, comparing phones with desktop computers! I am assuming that your multitasking phone shows all running apps in windows side by side on the display so you can work on the all concurrently.
Give an example where you have had good use of multitasking on your phone!
And for the record, the iPhone OS is a true multitasking OS. It's running a version of OS X, the OS that power Mac computers. Apple chose not to allow multitasking in the GUI for the same reasons a lot of people complain about other smartphones - battery power and sluggishness. It can be argued whether or not this is a valid point. The only disadvantage I've seen with how this works - that apps save their current state upon closing and resume from the same point on next launch - is the longer startup time.

Altek Leo 3.5G Android phone with 14MP with 3x optical zoom and CCD sensor launching in Europe in 2011: http://www.androidauthority.c[....]ndroid-phone-with-14mp-camera/
Will probably rip the N8 a new poo-hole.

i remember this phone about 4-5 months ago
quite good features for a android device.. and have implemented what 'people' want
people as in us - very specific needs people.
also @abubasim look into the 2010 portfolio at my 2 or so last posts about the sony cameras.. quite similar to the altek leo

so what it has Optical zoom.. who cares.. the N8 zoom is just as good as Optical zoom.
i bet the sensor is so small in this thing, it wont even come close to the N8 picture quality.
but what i can tell you is this Altek phone will totally destroy the Iphone camera

The iPhone 4 is the master of multitasking because it cannot multitask !? eh !? how does that work then !?
Im sorry AbuBasim but your comments are borderline ridiculous. You clearly know very little about anything.
As for Altek.. Altek who ?

Your insults are for avoiding my question about how multitasking has helped you?
What in my post was wrong then?

How multitasking has helped me ? are you for serious ?!? it sounds to me like you're saying multitasking is overrated and unnecessary, no ?
Theres literally hundreds of ways multitasking is a necessary part of a smartphone. Two things make a phone a smartphone IMO, the first is having an open OS for which apps can be made, the second is the ability to run those apps simutaneously.
Put it this way, if i had to close my phones web browser every time i wanted to write a text message, id go nuts ! if i were forced to close any app in order to perform any other function id go nuts ! Most of the time i use my phone im doing more than one thing at a time on it, usually texting while performing another function.
Oh and my insults are not aimed at being so, they're aimed at illustrating my frustration on your odd comments in a thread which has nothing to do with what you're talking about. Sorry to say, but you sad people who bang on about how bad Symbian is and about how great Apple and Android are have again invaded another thread. Where does it say in the thread title "Satio vs Nokia N8 oh and slag off Symbian as much as you can" - as far as i can see it doesnt.
Listening to people with their silly opinions and attempts to force them onto other people to disrepute a manufacturer such as Nokia or Symbian itself gets very boring.
Moving on and ignoring the ignorant people wearing blinkers, today GSMarena has reported Nokia N8 starts shipping on time, on its way to fulfil pre-orders, good news for people like myself.

You can do the same on the iPhone. The fact that you're actually closing the app when switching to another doesn't matter since all apps save their state upon closing so you get back to the same point the next time. The user will not see the difference between this and 'true' multitasking.

I replied to a post from you about apps. Then *you* started going on about multitasking and flawed OSs. Forgot your post? Here it is:

You don't like it when people slag Symbian but you dish comments like the above about other phones?
I myself had not made any comments about Symbian and the N8 in this thread so far. My previous post about the Altek phone was specific to the camera (12MP CMOS+digital zoom vs 14MP CCD+optical zoom).

Now, why cant Nokia do something like this in the UK !?
Nokia N8 feeds video to the largest cinema screen in the world - see link
@ Vit - this is exactly my point, everyone is banging on about how great the iPhone 4 is yet most of the apps for it are novelty. They do not enrich the phone or add otherwise missing functionality at all. Its so frustrating !
But why did they do it in Rosengård. That's a part of Malmö for you who didn't know.
Should have been here in Jönköping instead.
