I have been showing my SAS boarding card on my different phones for a while now. Dunno why they have to wait for an app update.

I've got 3 must have android apps
1. Rockplayer
2. Rockplayer and
3. Rockplayer
It can friggin play .flv, .mkv, and so far all other formats I've thrown at it that most video converters can't even decode. Not to mention full screen stretch options, battery level and time display. I'm just too impressed to use it for free anymore

Sucks on The X10 mini, I don't know why. I even tried the ARMv6 version ( for X10 mini's ARM11 CPU)
Videos are like slow motion videos, can't be hardware limitations, coz my old Omnia i900 (ARMv5) played them all buttery smooth
What do you guys think ??
P.S: Even with YXPlayer it's same

The resolution on Google Maps is very disappointing I think. I was doing a lot of walking in London yesterday and needed to find streets 3 times. Not only could I not see the names of tons of streets because of insufficient resolution but the usual "accurate to within 1500 metres" thing never showed my location correctly.
And my battery died at 1615 after being 100% when I left the house for the 08:22 train. I wasn't caning it either, wi-fi off, listened to maybe 5 songs on the train, took 5 or 6 phonecalls.
I like Google Maps but I want to love it. However, as time goes past I become more and more suspicious that there are better performing phones than my nice shiny X10 already running the version of Android that I want...

And while I am in a ranty mood this morning.... .... it's news like this that makes me a bit annoyed and frustrated and makes me regard SE as no more than an OEM. http://mashable.com/2010/09/21/gmail-for-froyo/
The sooner SE are run by software and services people and not pointy headed engineers and old brown goods dinosaurs who still think it's all about the hardware, the sooner they have a chance to live up to their brand promise and take back market share.

Hi aka Dus, Google Maps is the same from phone to phone... it won't get any better on any other device, it's the exact same map that you find on your computer. I find that surprising since Google Maps for the Philippines (which is way less mapped than London, we don't even have Streetview yet here.) has the weirdest side streets all mapped out... even out of town in remote areas.
Accurate within 1500m??? At WORST I've gotten a 50m accuracy radius when I'm indoors! Are your location services active? You may have disabled them.

Yes and no, it will show up differently on low res screens, and you will see more road names etc...

Ya, but all you have to do is zoom in. You can't get much lower than the X10 Mini's 320 x 240.
You can also try Mapdroyd then download an offline map

Yeah, appreciate that it's the same from phone to phone mate. But it's not the same res as the computer, not at all. I just can't zoom in close enough on the phone for the app to do what I need it to do.
Will mess with my location services to see if I can get a more regular location accuracy. |

Skype for Android only for 2.1
I think that's it for me and Sony Ericsson I'm afraid. They cannot keep up with the pace.

Strange as I am the total opposite I used the navigation (voice) and it was spot on accurate. I was very impressed especially in light of the small data download needed for a 100 mile journey. |

Have you even read the reviews on Skype for Android?
I'm not even gonna download it when I get 2.1
Verizon Skype for Android only works over 3G
Skype for Android (non Verizon) only works over Wifi if you're in the US..non US Skype users, please confirm 3G/Wifi usage please... so far I can't find any info regarding this.
It currently doesn't run on the Galaxy S.
It uses 16MB of memory and can't be installed on the SD card.
Currently all Android Skype users are doing nothing but complaining about the myriad of issues they're having.
I'll stick with Barnacle Wifi + iPad for my Skyping purposes thank you very much. Looks like by the time Skype gets things sorted out with Android, the next gen of 3.0 devices will be out anyway.
