You say TFT can't be read in sunlight, but my C905 is very easily legible in direct sun.

Indeed. Oled has the biggest flaw. TFT hands down wins in sunlight while Oled well its pretty damn hard.

really? Traditionally I'd agree. However you can search via google and see AMOLED (Samsungs' i8910) vs many TFT screens in direct sunlight; and say other wise. My AMOLED is hard to see in a white sunlight day like today in Toronto - but I'm wondering if its just because I'm using a VERY dark carbon theme.

Video audio is recorded in stereo, and it sounds excellent!

Thank you Mizzle! This is the most upbeat post since your recent goble with .

Also for others ... AMOLED will save on battery life VERY VERY much ... considering the ARMv7 Cortex-A8 cpu core the Satio is using! For once SE choose right!

http://a site.com/news[....]ericsson_satio_demo_videos.htm

Great PowerVR SGX 2D/3D GPU from Imagination Technology incorporated into even greater Texas Instrument's (TI) OMAP 3 together wiht the fully programmable VGP vertex processor core, FPU (floating point unit) and Superscalar 600-800Mhz ARM Cortex-A8 RISC core [this technology is capable of up to 1Ghz ppl] giving it at least 3 times better graphic performance over the convential ARM11 cpu's that Nokia uses in their touch devices (currently 5800XM & N97).

To give you an idea of the application performance of the ARM11 ask anyone that has used many S60 devices and then used the E71 ... they'll tell you menu's are considerably faster and applications run in tandem (even background) flawlessly and considerably faster than most S60 devices. THe N85 also uses the same ARM11 369Mhz cpu from Freescale. But audio/video encoding/decoding performance is not as good as the N95. N85 does just fine for games though.

If you loved the Pre's transitionaly videos or have seen what Kastor UI's can do (you've already tasted a hint with SE's design of that in the pre-release videos; smooth no!!?) then your ready for a real Touch-Smartphone.

The C905 uses a transflective display, meaning sunlight actually helps it. It's what most camcorders or digital cameras use, and I don't know why more phones don't (the C902 also does, as well as a range of phones from other manufacturers).

AM-OLED has many, many benefits and OLED will definitely be the future of ordinary televisions when the sizes increase. But, daylight use is a REAL problem and I've had to revert to the most ordinary themes to have any chance of reading them (rather like clarity on a SE with a screen that isn't reflective) - and that really spoils things when you're indoors.

Some people may not care though. Personally, I make very few calls actually outside in the bare sun (unless I'm on holiday). I'm making a call indoors, at work, another location, at home, in a pub or whatever. OLED would probably suffice for me most of the time, but I think the C905 screen type is probably the best compromise of performance vs battery consumption.

Like the battle for the megapixels on the camera, OLED is the in thing and it's more a case of having to show it on the spec sheet than actually offering something better for the consumer. The N85 and the Tocco Ultra Edition are great for watching videos (or especially movies) but rubbish when you want to take a photo in bright daylight - ironically, the best conditions for actually getting a good photo!!

For alll those who claim SATIO has anEXMOR sensor is quite simple

Dumb point. The C905 used an Exmor and could probably shoot in VGA or more, but SE chose QvGA. Goodness.

why would you want HD video on your phone anyway, seriously!

id hate to use it for more than 10 mins, see what happens to your battery. would hate to think if you were in an emergency situtation and needed your phone, but had a dead battery because of something like hd recording.

ok i get that some people like it, but i really dont think its a big issue.
