I quit caring about phone cameras. I have realized that even the best are way too sh&tty so all I want is one that takes a slightly acceptable snapshot when needed. I bought the C905, the LG Renoir, the Moto ZN5...all were "photographically" pathetic. The C510 can take an OK photo when you don't have a camera with you and this is fine with me. Not much is going to change in the near future as long as the lenses are the size of a pinhead, and the "megapixel marketing race" is only making things more...blurry and noisy!

Yes indeed i believe in a phone 5 mega pixels is enough for me or most people. Tiny lenses with tiny sensors & huge mega pixels is making things worse. I also think manufacturers are misleading less than wise consumers into thinking mega pixels like 12 are always better!!!!

The spacing and the response of the keypad is very good...way better than the "rubbery" feeling of the C702 keys.

Out of curiosity I used up one credit and upgraded to R1DA035 using Wotanserver. This firmware is not available at SEUS yet. Didn't notice any difference but to justify the waste of seven euros I keep telling myself that it must be doing something better over the previous R1DA032 release!!!

I forgot to mention one HUGE advantage of this phone; it has a ultra-bright screen and it doesn't suffer from the "dimming screen effect" (like the C902, C905, T700, and many others) which was devised to save battery but it mostly frustrates the hell out of the buyers!

Advantages are slim with great build nice design clear sharp bright screen which makes photos and video look great. Has HSDPA too for such a cheap phone. Disadvantages are keypad is awkward if you have big fingers like me but not too bad. Headphones that come with phone are rubbish using old K800i ones sounds better. To be honest there are not many bad things about it for the price you cant moan. Is it possible to update firmware even with Orange branding?

If you update at wotanserver.com you will get rid of the Orange branding at the same time.

Check my post earlier and do it for free. Put a generic CDA in customize_upgrade.xml and put it in the custom folder of your phone, then use SEUS and debrand it for free?

Oh i see so if i just do an update it will update it AND automatically remove branding. Do i have to pay? I did once update my old K800i via SEUS which was easy but i have never debranded before. My back cover on my C510 is starting to creak a little though nothing major

Yep, all you need is a2uploader, and a CDA of an unbranded C510. Check the fooling SEUS thread for C702 and apply that to the C510, the same CDAs might even work

Guyz, don't you think that seven euros is a very small amount of money to avoid the risk of interfering with the phone's ROM? You pay once to debrand/upgrade and after that SEUS recognizes the phone as an unbranded one and all updates are free.

Same goes if you change the CDA, afterwards SEUS will also see your phone as generic, because of the CDA, what do you think wotan and others do ?

You buy the latest firmware with a gernic CDA inside, they have firmwares before they're out on SEUS but I don't like paying for that, if you don't mind paying, please do so. The risks ofdoing it yourself and doing it via a service are the same, and in both cases you warranty might be void. Tell me, does wotan provide you with a new phone ifyou brick it ? And the support they give doesn't come close to the support you can get fro free on forums such as Esato

C510 R1DA032 Main Generic KT
C510 R1DA032 FS Western Europe
