I've posted this on the 'Software' K850i firmware thread but thought would also post it here in case some people don't check the firmware thread.

I mentioned a few days ago one way to make videos play slightly smoother is to disable media menu auto rotation,
a better way to to play your 300Kbps videos smoothly is through file manager instead of media menu (photo viewing is also much faster this way),
first select a video then press centre soft-key 'View' then before pressing 'Play' press left soft-key 'Options' choose landscape, press 'Play
to choose another video press 'Back' then use left or right on D pad,
press centre soft-key to play,
normally the video plays in sync (unless play/pause is used then sync goes completely to fix this either restarted video or choose another)
************************************************************
Something else give a slight speed-up on menus and general feel of the phone , choose a basic theme like Clarity and/or make sure you have a static backdrop picture instead of an animated one.

Has anyone else noticed that some java apps seem to exit when you press the centre select key?
http://helmen.blogspot.com/20[....]750i-j2me-maps-mapbrowser.html
That for example, would be really useful. It installs fine.. and it opens up fine, but when you get to the menu and it asks you to press enter to select the map, when you do it just exits you back to the Applications folder. No other keys are responsive except for Up/Down.
I noticed it's the same with this too, and both apps look pretty much the same menu-wise once you open them up on the phone.

Hi,
I have been trying to put music onto the memory card using the media manager software that comes with the phone.
But i cant see an option to move the files straight to the memory card not the phone? Help on this please?
Thanks. |

Just out of curiosity, have any of you K850i users noticed page 3 of the user manual (both hard copy and online)? It says the K850i is a tri-band GSM(900/1800/1900) with UMTS 2100.
The website and the phone box say quad band and I know that for a fact because I am using the GSM 850 as I type and so are most of the other K850i users in the US.
My question however is, are all phones tri-band UMTS compatible? My phone does pick up a 3G signal and I am not sure what frequency it picks up. I read online that AT&T offers UMTS 850/1900 and I called AT&T tech support and the guy told me AT&T offers UMTS 2100. I am puzzled. |

When you connect the cable, use the file transfer option. I think that should help! |

That's not true. Only one memorycard at the same time.
