@Firefreak, I think its generall accepted now that you should not restore anything from backups of an older firmware

certainly I never do, and I have no problem setting timezone with the same firmware as you

I just install everything fresh from the memory card. The initial startup always gets my operator settings so I then only have email to setup

..wops.

Seems the arrow and the backspace keys repeat when you hold them in now.

(There isn't anywhere SE lists the firmware- changes, btw?)

My network settings didn't install automaticly after the update so I had to restore settings and contacts from my previous backup. Will a master reset clear all settings changed by the restore or do I have to update my P1 again?

I cant read some texts and sony have said it just needs a software update.

@DagMX, lucky you

but many people post here with issues when they have done that and almost always the issue is resolved by master resetting and starting fresh

This firmware came out last week but wasn't readily available for all regions. I think it's out for most now... Updated mine yesterday.

Trade America 1 lol...WTF???

Have had it on for about 12 hours now...and here are a few findings..

WIFI speed is faster... I'm getting ~2x faster then before according to www.dslreports.com/mspeed I'm hitting about 320kb/sec i was hitting about 160-180KB before... Still about 4x slower then n series and windows mobile but it's a lot better nevertheless..

Overall the phone seems faster in some places...editing contacts for example is faster now... it was quite slow before.

a2dp connection seems slightly stronger.. i got less static and breakups on my walk to work this morning..

otherwise just looks like a minor update probably fixing a few things that i wasn't aware of...

Bugs...
-timezone issue is still there

Music player display bug
from what i remember before... if you had 50 track and played them all on shuffle it would say 5/50 then 20/50 when it switched songs.. now it says 5/50 and 6/50 when it shuffles. it still shuffles just the number sequence has changed.

I'll report more as I see...

however...stupid thing kept using SEMC GPRS and had to fiddle around for a while to get it to use my operator's one -.-

Maybe we should start posting new bugs (if any) on the new update.

All updated and back to normal!!!

Right, initial things I notice... General speed has improved, or maybe I should say its seems faster and smoother...

BB Connect has improved!!! It doesnt seem to hang like it used to... Perfect example is when you have unread mail in your inbox and you simply go into it and press 'More', Reconcile Now... I seem to be able to access the More menu quicker than before and second, I was able to use the back key to come out of my Inbox while it was still reconciling whereas before it would hang until it had finished and then return to standby...

Lets see how it fairs once my inbox and sent items are full though...
