I said I wanted to wait for a W580i, but guess I bought it after I saw the Spring Yellow one!!! You guys will be delighted to know the Spring Yellow color is so classy and the metallic feeling is so expensive! (Even though this is supposed to be a mid-low end phone...)

My colleague is holding on to the Black/Green one, which I also find rather unique.

The Yellowish Gold is really striking, and trust me. Live pix of the spring yellow phone isnt the same as looking at the real one itself! I would say anyone who is keen to make a difference, go for it!

LOVED IT! Yuhoo!

Hello,
Who is the happy owner s500, tell that with the keyboard? At us a problem, any more the first person complains - burst in the middle of the button on the keyboard. And all after 2-3 days of use.
Each day all new buyers write in forums about the broken buttons.
We dont know, there can be it a defective party? Nobody collided with a similar problem?

Perhaps the first delivery was indeed defectuous

Not sure if anyone else has seen these on the SE site, but if you can't wait to play with the S500i, you can try a virtual one oneline

http://www.sonyericsson.com/t[....]=gb&lc=en&zone=pp&window=popup

check out the videos, the light affects, some themese, pretty neat, seems most of the newer phones have these "try" pages.

I have been using the phone for around 2days. My friends all took to play with it, and I am a sms user as well. So far my keypad stays the same way though... I can understand it being fragile looking as it is so slim, but really nothing like what has been mentioned.

My guess is that some sets could be facing this problem based on the live pix of the cracked keys... Unfortunate it is true that some other users of S500i actually faced such a problem...

Does it only happen to the Black/Green color? Mine is the Yellow/ Silver version... Will update if theres any changes (hopefully not though...)

It seems that only protos and very early produced S500 have the broken keys problem, all the new users are satisfied.
Can't wait 10 more days!!!

Hi, guys. I've got one quick question for you - are the 'dynamic lights' glowing when there is a missed call?

@henrikwl: when you get your hands on the s500 you could make a decent one.

Done.

It's not extensive, deep-going or even long. It's merely a quick observation of what I percieve to be it's qualities and shortcomings after 3-4 days of using it normally.

So anyone waiting for an all-exposed, multi-page walkthrough of the phone's every function will have to wait a bit longer, I'm afraid.

I too realli want to buy an S500 since the grey w580 looks abit chunky irl (don't flame me for this, this is just my own opinion) but one of the things keeping me away from buying it RIGHT NOW is the whole keypad issue.

I too wish to request the users of broken keypads to check what country it's made in, or if there's any way on the box to identify if the phones are from early production (from what one of the posts said).
And my last question, for all those with broken keypads... Does SE fix/replace the fones or at least the keypads free of charge under the warrenty? Or are you guys permanently stuck with those cracked keypads?
Cuz I emailed SE about this like, 4-5 days ago but they still haven't replied.
