IMO, I think W950i sound better than W810i in terms of sharpness and loudness.
In terms of equilizer, W810i "Bass" mode is smoother than W950i "Bass" mode. I usally set my W950i in "Normal" mode as I often find the rest of the selection too strong.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with my W950i units for the Walkman and PDA functions compared to some user posted here.
Btw, I tried updating thru SEUS, same as some user here, it loops back to the "Start" or "Exit" page. Those unable to update via SEUS, update at your nearest SE Authorised Service Center.
I also observed in the SMS where some of my sms received time jumbled up and not sorted correctly. Time of the sms also incorrect.
Still got KERN-EXE error for some application like SkyForce and Pool.
Too many launched application will cut off GPRS for the ActiveSync.
Well, at least we can rest assure that SE will cont to issue firmware for this model for sometime.... |

Well - got a problem. It won't back up and the IR red light is permanently on regardless of whether the phone is on or not. Called SE Cust Svcs who said O2 firmware update released Sunday - not according to my phone!!
So now its off via snail mail to get fixed!! The last backup I did was 2/1/07 - so not too much data lost!
Getting pretty p***ed off with the bugs.
Anyone got any suggestions to save me posting it?

Hi
Any idea when voda branded handsets can update through SEUS?
Also, is there a software like NSS for the nokia which changes the product code/CDA for the phone as one of its functions - through the cable supplied with the handset So that SEUS can be used?
Its a two second job on Nokias and did my N73 in no time.
The W950i is the phone I would rather be using...
Any ideas - or is anyone working on such a piece of software?

You can use these 2 options to remove your voda branding and then you will be able to update quicker in the future, but of course if you get on of these done it will come back to you with the latest firmware.

also, branded phones usually take a good few weeks to become available, but thats if the network even allows it to.

So, is SEUS already updating your W950i? Not keeping to START window anymore? |

my SEUS works fine with my w950i. But it says i have latest installed when i have r9da001, and not r1e.
thats because my phone is a 3 phone though...

Hi Everyone.
(I meant to post this here not in the main forum - so appologies for the double post)...
Just thaught I'd drop a line to tell you I got my carphone warehouse supposedly "unbranded" firmware updated to the latest firmware today by the seunlock-uk guys..
I can heavily recommend these people - I met their technical manager in person in Edinburgh today and they updated my phone whilst I waited in around half an hour.
The phone was returned to me updated and tested with detailed instructions on putting back texting/internet setttings etc.
In short : VERY trustworthy people with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and SUPPORT! I heavily recommend their services.. and will be to my friends/colleagues etc..
This new firmware is much better - it doesn't reboot when I look at video properties...
I can now enable the speakerphone BEFORE a call is made!!!
I can now fast forward/jump into the middle or any part of a music video - and it now works instead of locking up..
etc. etc.
So I heavily recommend everyone updates their firmware if their current version is causing them problems..
The good thing about using their service is that my CDA code has now changed to a much more common one that might get more updates from SEUS!
Regards
Steven McDonald.

Not me... I'm still stuck in the damn loop.
Way to go SE!
I still think that it probably has something to do with the software installed on the phone. What we need is someone to confirm this (one way or the other) by doing a hard reset as well as a format of their internal media memory. I'd give it a go myself, but I don't know enough information about the new firmware updates to justify doing it (i.e. I'm not sure if having the updated firmware is worth the trouble of completely resetting my phone). |

Why not back up the phone through SEUS and that way any pertinant info will be saved and then when you update the FW or suchlike you will be able to put all yuo settings etc. back on the phone no problem at all.
