Hi Boba,
The reason is quite simple i am more than happy with the browser that comes with my phone and i just don't add any apps to my phone that i don't absolutely need. As i believe this is one of the easiest ways to keep it all running nice and smooth. Now although in theory you should be able to add and remove apps at will i really do believe that with the latest incarnations of Symbian this is no longer so. This is why after 2 weeks and having used every feature of my phone i have not had a single crash or freeze the only thing i have yet to do is shoot some video and the only problem i have experienced is not being able to open a picture sent from my N73 over bluetooth. As for just putting my phone in my pocket i would need seriously big pockets for an N93 and it wouldn't remain mint for long, the case will mean when i go to sell after how ever long that it is it will still be mint.

Has anyone had any luck streaming over wi-fi on an N-series phone. I can stream most things over 3g (expensive) but the same link will disconnect after a couple of seconds on wi-fi. Anyone got a work around? |

By "streaming " do you mean video? |

I have the same problem with both audio and video. I think it must have something to do with Realplayer on wi-fi because the links work both on my pc and using 3g. |

@shug you should check in the real player streaming settings,it's in the program itself.

@bugsiiy There's nothing wrong there - not much to tinker with to begin with. Can anyone else stream even audio through their router to their n- series phone?

Maybe they're thinking of extending the market life of these phones by bumping them like the Internet Edition N80 which would then be N80-2 |

@BobaFett; 4hrs surfing on the E50 is nothing to write home about its DOESNT have WiFi and thus can compare to the regular battery of an S60 2ND Ed 6620. Sry no cudo's there.
@shug; Streaming issues for you're N series phone is unsure what the cause is. What model are you using? Furthermore make sure your using the correct link (rtsp I believe with the .rm or .rmv or .rv - I may be wrong on the latter 2 file formats for streaming). But I suspect its a MEMORY Issue you're having. OR the DISCONNECTING issue may be due to the router settings? Is the router set to MAC filter? (are you spoofing your MAC address on the phone with FEEDBEEF?) Does your wireless router have a WEP/WPA_PSK encryption key? if any of those kill the encrypt & the filtering. REBOOT/Soft Reset the phone & start FRESH! However, HOW large is the Audio file you're trying to stream?
@QVGA, " Why does it say N71-1 or N91-1? Whats that 1 for? " Nokia practices segregation like other manufacturers so the -1 in a model number designates its intended market. THis makes more sense in phones like the N80/E70 that DONT have quadband yet have been advertised or press released to support the N/S. American bands for GSM.
@*dust*; you should've stated your business about the N91 issue right off the bat - someone may have been able to reply to assist in that 1 post you posted instead of making two.
Efficient posting peeps.

@prom1 I have an N80. Let's say I want to listen to BBC Radio1. I know the link is ok because it works on 3g. I know I don't have any issues with my router because I can surf the internet. I can also stream both audio and video from my pc using Orb -both useing my router or any other wi-fi connection. What I can't do is stream over any wi-fi connection to my phone. I just want to know if anyone else can. Can't figure out what the problem is. |
