Yep Z2 is between 5.2-5.3 inch.
Here's hoping it will be the same size as Z1 with that 5.2 inch screen size.
Honestly I would prefer if the Z2 was only 5 inch with smaller bezels than the Z1 (as close to the size of ZL as possible), I think 5 inches should be the agreed standard for flagship smartphones, anything over that is a phablet.
This screen size race is just getting ridiculous.....
Any info on the other unreleased s800 smartphones? anything similar to ZL in the works?
once the screen becomes retractable. any size would be just fine. |

i don't know about you guys but the thing that makes me the most curious about the Z2 is its screen:
1. will they still use the same Z1 tech = VA+triluminos?
2. if yes, is it possible to improve screen quality and viewing angles with VA+triluminos more then they did with Z1?
3. if no, what kind of new display are they going to choose for Z2?
about the size, i do hope like others that they will choose at least 5.2 inch screen.

Nope either. 5.5" at 1080p = 400 DPI, you can't simply increase it. DPI is a function of resolution over size.
Everything else is ridiculous too. Pure speculation, just like the 'Honami mini' wishlists. |

I was 99% sold on the Z1the only thing that stopped me pre-ordering was there was no 32/64GB memory on release day.
I was luckly managed to play with a working Z1 last weekend its a big phone and was sadly disappointed with how big the bezel was it dont look right, the whole length of the phone and the screen was only about 70% of the whole phone, the top & bottom bezle is way to big I did not mind the side of the bezle and in that space at the bottom of the bezle you would think they use the 3 Menu/Home & Return buttons in it no they use the screen for that so it put me off, So I will hold out to see if these things are more refind in the bezle Area in the Z2 just like how the Samsung galaxy s3 & s4 are with the 3 Buttons hidden in the bottom Bezle I dont mind them being in the screen if its a really small bezle just like LG G2 that phone looks awesome such a small bezle id be sold on that if it had SD slot. |

if you follow the sources for that "Sony Xperia Z2 codenamed Avatar is coming ? Specs leak" (http://freeandroidsas.blogspot.co.il/2013/09/sony-xperia-z2-codenamed-avatar-is.html ) you will arrive to this site: http://techkiddy.blogspot.in/[....]z2c770x-codenamed-avatar.html# now you will see that the source for these rumors come from THIS thread - so basically the user that posted the Z2 "leak" here is the one responsible for these rumors. so all mobile sites base their rumors from this thread. don't they have other sources? in the other hand, writers just had to fill a page of news cause they get paid... how accurate the tumor is is another thing...

yes, but if you scroll here a lot of pages back (before the z1 was announced), a few weeks ago if i'm not mistaken, you can see who is the user that first posted these so called z2 spec (5.2 inch etc.) - if it was from his mind then why claim it's a leak? it's alright to write a wishlist but say it's a wishlist and not a leak...

Who spread the info that Z2 will be shown at CES? That is absolute BS. Z2 isn't coming before March. |

I think this is where we can rely on a robust XR grading system for rumors, as anything posted in this site will be accepted by anyone.
I'm planning to refine the already implemented XR system on the next 2014 thread, how a certain rumor would be graded would depend from the conviction of the proven trustworthy guys here. I wouldn't count myself as one of them though what do you guys think?
