SE have done well to preview the Idou. Its exactly what they need to keep up with the play. Very high specs! Just hope they keep on target with their release of it though. Either way looks like a very speedy interface.
yea g - you wouldnt have a virus or anything like that sucking ur net mayby? sounds suspicious!
Carkitter - I really dont get on with samsung unless its symbian UI. The newly released touchscreen with HD video recording has the same UI as the nokia 5800 xpress music so might be a consideration down the track. At the moment, nokia 5800 will be best option - cheaper and already available.

Have you looked at the Samsung Omnia too?
Both of those interest me as iPhone competitors but without the limitations.
Unfortunately, they're without the iPhones best feature - the App Store but Nokia may be fixing that very soon. Their own App Store is about to arrive.
Looks like I spoke too soon. As of yesterday, there is only ONE phone in my sights - the Idou. It's the first phone I've seen to match the iPhone in touch screen UI and potentially the S60 Apps supported by the might of Nokia may be able to gain traction too. I really want this phone...

+3! Very very nice interface and real quick. Plus you cant go wrong with 12 megapixel cam AND xenon flash, LED flash. Brilliant. If you look at the latest monsters from samsung, nokia they all have LED flashes which isnt ideal for such a high spec camera phone. And LG, well they do try with xenon but they end up less powerful than LED flashes! |

Yeah ill definitely get this phone...when its released however is the question.
Finally got to test the nokia 5800 xpressmusic today. I am really impressed. The touchscreen was more responsive than i thought, although sometimes you would have to press to get things going instead of touch. This could be cos the screen protector was still on and the phone had never been turned on so i was trying to play with it wile it was loading up.
Text input is much much better than the iphone IMO. With the nokia 5800 i could text like normal but when i tryed the iphone i got frustrated and gave up.
Music on this thing is really impressive. The stereo speakers actually sound bassy, less tinny and of decent quality. When i plugged my headphones in, the sound was extremly similar to my standalone sony mp3 player. Sony wins with much more stable bass though. Not saying the 5800 doesnt do bass well...cos it certainly does.
Camera worked all ok, its much easier now to operate and more user friendly than the normal N series camera interface. Pretty quick to take and save a picture, although so it should be as its only 3.2 megapixels.
Dont understand what some people are saying about the auto rotation being slow? I thought it was pretty quick and much faster than the nokia n82 ever did.
Image gallery is nice, the usual expectation of a touchscreen phone. I have to say things were alot quicker and easier with touchscreen (remember i have never owned or experienced one before).
So i thinking this can be my filler until Idou...

Funny... The W910i seems to have gone up in price according to the Vodafone online store.
