Everyone, here is a wake-up call! The scammers are showing up here on Esato and will make us look bad if we dont rise to the challenge. I believe that we regulars here are honest, intelligent Nigerians. How about becoming more visible in the SE & general forums & mix intelligently with other Esatonians. It will go a long way. Whenever a Naija scammer does show up, they know our country is not all about that. What do you say?

@AYA: I've received a couple of scam emails on my hotmail account (they most likely got it off esato) but I just ignore it and laugh @ the bad English.

@brix25: AXXR just got PM'd by a one. The English is extremely laughable, really. However, I wish these guys would turn their efforts into more noble & productive efforts. Like writing stories. I'll even offer to do the editing free. My wife and I are incubating a project to encourage such. We just don't want to rush.

@AYA: Brillian idea because Nigerians, at least the ones I've come across are hardworking, intelligent people. I believe current scammers are young people wanting to make a quick buck but their efforts have been thwarted by internet users who'v wised up.

@brix25: You are right. At least they should be smart enough to realise that its not working anymore, if it ever did. Now, they are simply a national embarassment.

@Areafada; the issue about my abscence is not about having a glo line, its about discussions that circle around glo users alone, i use a PC in the office which is 24hrs connected to the internet, so i have no constraint about forum discussions, i come in if the topic is of interest and if its about my service provider (MTN), No matter how bad their network is at times, they still remain the best for me.

Happy Valentine Everyone!

@AYA; (Update 4th February 2005: MTel has announced that it has setup a GPRS platform on its network and will launch in late March'-Gosmartmobile.com) Is this going to be cheaper for MTN subscribers, using Mtel, and will configuration still be athru dial up?

@angel: Only Mtel subscribers will be able to use it. MTN people are still limited to dial-up via MTECH's gateway (and others). Yes,Mtel's GPRS will be cheaper, just like it is on Glo now, but likely cheaper.

Hello everyone and happy VAL!

AYA i can see ur no longer using ur p800 on esato, why?

I've confirmed the Mtel gprs capabilities,
I'm currently using an Mtel line and i can see the GPRS signal on my phone

If only i knew their APN and IP add. i could probably help them to testrun before march ending.

@mamba: As u can see, I still use my P800. Its just that I use Opera more these days since I got on GloDirect. Wish I could lay my hands on an Mtel line & attempt the same feat I did with Glo!

@Mamba, drop Ur GSM line so we can text U when U vanish again. @All About Nigerians and 419...I really don't think I owe anyone here or anywhere an explanation. 419 works with greed. If U are not greedy, U cannot fall for it. The mods should ban anyone who sends a 419 PM.

@coola: I agree with you 100% on the subject of 419. The mods are doing a great job keeping it in check.

I don't owe anyone either, but good men should let themselves be seen and heard. It does make a difference, IMHO.

@coola the No is 08053044264

I'm serving in Imo state and there's no GPRS available there. That's why i vanish at times.

AYA, what feat did you achieve on glo?

I now have MTN, glo and Mtel.

I'll buy a Vmobile line today and do a comparison of all the gsm lines soon.

Mtel is kinda cool though, you recharge with =N=1,000 and get =N=100 free plus it's kinda cheap making calls.
