@alan&shivam thanks a lot. Ur idea of pinging 100.1.200.99 is working very fine .Now i am getting download speeds greater than 14 kBps.

Hi All,

Need some help.

I followed all the instructions given in the first post.

I get connected.

But i am not able to surf.

I get the error prohibited from communicating with source.

I am sure i have the proxy settings right.

100.1.200.99 & port 8080

do i need to do some correction.

Please help, i need to get back at Airtel.

instead of pinging 100.1.200.99 ping 100.1.200.213
coz 100.1.200.99 is used by many ppl to use free gprs so pinging that ip will make too much load on it .and it will result in drop in speed.

once u connect gprs via pc try to open any site on mobile u will get the error just ignore it and now open any site on ur pc's web browser.

Good to see this trick working for Rahul_mk. I think he is using 6230(edge). So i guess it should work for AlanDs too since he too got an edge phone. By the way, does anyone got this trick working on non-edge phones???????

Hey im not able to connect... ive follwed all steps.... im getting connected to net at 460.8 kbps... then i do the step 7 and then when i goto my browser. it says that the proxy is refusing connections... im using the nokia 7710 and airtel post paid... plz help thanks...

hey today i was expriment with my ip's and found that..
even if i config my ip as server's ip i get connected how is it possible..

but no data transfer..

i don't understand this kind of networking where two pc has same ip..

if u want speed use linux. linux ubuntu is very user friendly and u can even run exe file or any windows plateform software on it using wine eumalator
