I have tried M600 and P990 (Stable Prototipes).
I like M600... it's so slim. The M600 touchscree is very practical for menu buttons.
P990 is ok from feature side, but it looks biger that P910  but it it lighter. |

Since I'm lazy and don't want to actually check dimensions... Is it actually bigger or does it just look bigger? |

Oh I hope not, I was on the train in south London yesterday and had to put up with a group of young girls all huddled round a mobile belting out some hip hop c**p via the loudspeaker Mega Bass can only make things worse for an unwilling captive audience!!!!! Will be ok if it only works via headset
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

Gotta say i must have been living in a cave or something for the last few months ive just noticed the 990 has RDS radio on it! COOL!

Sorry to call you out in the open ... BUT you've done EXACTLY what you claim you dont like. Look in the mirror before pointing the finger; that goes for all of us. I know these kinds of ppl really get to the nerves but it happens just dont let it get to ya.
Btw, everyone this same kind of action is what caused this very thread to be closed by masseur just days ago!!
I would be betting that just like the K750 that Mega Bass is there.
Just to note that the business card reader function of the P990 is no longer a unique ability as the new Asus P550 has this ability. But SE rendition I'm sure is refined. |

I have not seen the Asus P550, I know the P525 was just released. I could not find any reference to the P550 on Google. Do you have some inside scoop?

looks too much like a nokia for my liking, plus I wouldn't get another pocket pc based phone. As soon as the P990 is released my spv m5000 is being sold & I'm going back to a symbian device I miss my P series too much

Anybody heard anything more on a release now that there are reports of the M600 slowly trickling to retail? Is it going to be sooner (by end of June) rather than later (August)? |

I called SE of Hong Kong today and they have given me the reply that in will be available in our local market here in 2-3 weeks. We don't have branding by the networks here, so maybe thats why its arriving faster. |

This appears to be the HTC Herrmes which first appeared late last year. Whether PPC is branded O2, QTEK, Dopod etc, they are all ODM of High Tech Coporation in Taiwan. News has it that this phone is due for release this summer.
I owned the 02 mini and Atom before, and honestly speaking I am not very impressed with the build quality of these units. The call quality, screen colors, multimedia, camera, music sound quality of the HTC units aren't great and not anywhere near the quality of SE. They are very expensive too. I thought the Atom would be highly improved over the mini, but it was disappointing. WM5 only supports 65K colors it really has to move at least to 262K. I still found WM5 unstable and had to consistently reset the unit.
I don't like the look of this unit, its still too PPC and HTC should have learnt to improve the visual designs of its unit. Nevertheless, there are people who still prefer and buy PPC phone. For me, I've left it and still choose the 990 over anything right now. |
