Dear dear dear... supporters of Vodacom... "Vodacom has better 3G coverage than MTN" - please be extremely careful about making such clearly unfounded and unsubstantiated remarks. There is no proof yet as to who is better. While I've been experiencing some problems with respect to both, at various locations either could be better, or non-existent. Yes, Vodacom have had their 3G commercially available for a longer period than MTN, but MTN have been testing their network for a longer period than Vodacom, and they've deployed EDGE which gives users a much faster fallback when there is no 3G coverage. EDGE already covers all major centers. MTN's data has historically been better largely because of Vodacom's multi-vendor network. Vodacom failed to even perform soft GPRS hand-overs, and hence why they've rushed their 3G rollout. It replaces a platform that never worked - PERIOD! NOw they want to deliver HSPDA... when? Before the end of the year? Well earlier I recall April 2005 as the date, which has passed, and now they plan to launch it before EU and Japan... hmmm me finds this very difficult to comprehend. And guys... before you get too excited about 2-14.4meganits/sec on Vodacom.... there are still now devices available that support these speeds and there won't be until early 2006. So, coming back to me earlier statement... On data I always back MTN. Those techs usually know what's happening, while Vodacom does deliver much much better customer service.

What do you guys think of the 7 new Nokias? Some interesting looking sliders, but with a strong pseudo-SE flavour re the one side looking very much like a digital camera, on some of them.
Imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery, Nokia...

Finally got to play with the K600i and the K750 courtesy of my friend the Monkey Man. Was honestly suprised by both models. Especially their displays...all the features I've gotten used to in my precious is still there but with a much better camera and expandable memory(K750). The design of the keypad on the K600 is something to get used to as it's flush with the surface...texting with greasy fingers might prove tricky.

The K600 takes the candybar shape a bit over the top... It's too square for my liking. The K750 on the other hand fits snug into the hand and means business as it comes loaded with features...found the new activity button above the joystick weird...then again I had the phone for 5 minutes before the WirelessMonkey removed them.

@ Brix... please don't be upset about me removing the phones. I'll arrange a V800 - this the one you should play with.

1. Brix with the new K600i hard at work last night.
