until release a white paper we cannot be totally sure.

The P910 white paper, for example, documented that although the P910 supported PRO duo, it did not support parallel mode and so you gained no performance advantage with these extreme cards

I haven't read any reports from pre release testers who have conducted performance tests on memory sticks either

we'll have to wait and see.

Isnt sandisk the only manufacturer of duos now?? Just saying because we havent seen any sony ones for a LONG time at work (Argos...uk...no laughing ) and we get the sandisk ones in for use with PSPs/mobiles etc....

I may be wrong but the review by bengalboy seemed to have a sandisk duo shipped with the p990 he had??

I've noticed on the P990 page of the SE UK website that the Sandisk duo's are pictured not Sony ones.

Under the connectivity section

So perhaps Sony have stopped producing them

It's probably early to ask, but do you think the p990i could be software upgraded to support hsdpa ?

(Commercial offers are already available in France from SFR)

well i think depending on initial supply of phones by manufacturer and demand from customers as well as direct competition from models from other manufactures(ie htc hermes)as well as the actual release date of the phone ...the price might be a bit higher than the above tag or significantly lower as it becomes outdated b4 its release

@mrvanx, at Vodafone stores we only stock branded sony ones (which are actually in the proper Sony packaging but then packaged with Vodafone brand stuff), we have a stedy supply and all sizes upto a gig.

@petrutms, when you say the p990 is in final testing with Vodafone - where abouts did you mean? Romania? Or? Thanks

Hi everyone,

I like to ask if anyone could confirm whether the P990 has the Sony Mega Bass because I don't see it in the specs on the SE site. I know the M600i has but haven't seen anything confirming that the P990 has it.

Thanks.

@jmcconnell,

No thats not the case (not sure why im saying this) sandisk and sony make the same cards, but they dont or very rarely come packaged with the phones and sony overcharge for their memory cards. Well maybe not over-charge but sandisk are usually shippped with phones over sony memory cards as thats what the manufactuers prefer.

@bigalis,

There are people out there who get prototypes, take bengalboy for instance but he is rich and has contacts. The phone will not be released untill August, so we willl just have to sit back and chillax.

Yes the phone does have Mega Bass
