From expansys C905 Euro 644.99. It’s not worth this price IMO

The price will no doubt come down pretty soon after release. Upgraders will be happy to offload their phones for a good price on eBay, which is what I am banking on.

I don't think I would ever pay £400 for a phone, that's just crazy. I might wait and see what contract deals are available. I remember at the announcement the representative said it would be around £35 a month. Vodafone are doing the Omnia for £35 a month now, so let's see. |

I heard from @micke2005, C905 will be out begin at September, how ever I did pre oder one.. let wait and wait..
Hey bud, don't believe everything 'micke2005' is saying ! ! ! yeah ideed not long ago he had a argument with me about the release date. I am still waiting for his answer - as to where in Brisbane is SE. (First him and then his friend worked for SE 'somewhere' - he is not allowed to mention his name or where)
End of Oct. early Nov. is a more credible date, but this is a 'calculated GUESS'. Me thinks, not even SE know the exact date. The sooner the better. Samsung is a winner all the way and don't discount Nokia. Shortly (3-6 weeks or so), Nokia will announce 'the next big thing' in cellphones which should be ready for sale in the first Q-2009 (End of march in my books) I have a few specs but certainly don't want to speculate. The data input will surely turn heads thou Remains to be seen how practical it will be. One thing is sure. If SE don't start thinking about WIMAX soon, they will play second fiddle next year and the year after that. I still remember the head-start Nokia got with EDGE. |

Depends where..
Here in EU winmax is outplayed by correct 3G . dunno how is the situation over there..
But he was right about one thing, C905 has sensor from Sony and not from Samsung..
Read some where Eldar did say it was cheap sensor from Samsung,
how ever I still wait for C905.
using correct W980 right now

WIMAX in cell phones is absurd. With Speeds upto 7.2 mbps available, i shudder to think ehy someone would want to use Wimax whose credibility is still under question. Wimax will be widely available and alotted by the end of 2009.Anything earlier is a joke. |

Ok, I don't want to discuss WIMAX in this C905 tread (C905 unfortunatily does not have wimax and neighter will any SE phones in the forseeable future) However,just as with EDGE, I think SE should not wait for the network operators (which in turn are waiting for the cell companies), but should implement it in their phones ASAP ! If you know something about WIMAX, then you realise one can use it in 'privat' mode, just as wifi. Imagine been networked with your pc at home or office (just as wifi) but from up to 10KM away! How about making a skype phone call thru your pc's ADSL connection while on the move? WIMAX will change the way cellphones will be used (at least for some of us). Let's leave it here thou (for now).

I agree. So does Ericsson

The fact is new technology takes a while to perculate through the entire industry. Take 3G itself. EDGE remained the most popular form of mobile broadband for at least five years after the first 3G towers appeared.
Manufacturers have a good few years yet to get their shit together on wimax.

that's a really weak attempt to make a negative of the C905. typical mario FUDD (Fear Uncertainty Doubt and Disinformation)

You are right, eventually, wimax (or possible some other similiar technology but probably wimax) will offer the seemless connectivity you are talking about.
But no phone currently has wimax so your argument is rather premature. Anyway you mentioned wimax, so don't backout now just because you realise how contrived your argument appears
wimax networks won't be pervasive for a few years yet.

I rarely agree with you but on this one I agree completely!

I hope people still remeber that Ericsson is a leading micro chip manufacturer and is a leading house in providing wireless data traspher.So, whateverhappens, it will come to Ericsson first and then to the latter. Now its up to SE if they want to implement Ericsson's growing popularity in the microchip and wireless data business.
WimaX for now is absolutely insane. With SE now moving over technologies from its Japan counterpart, I expect SE to open up better in the near future and a clearer picture will be available by the end of this year. So please leave those BS comments about how SE will not implement blah blah in their phones and let us wait and see through the announcements. |

@max_wedge
The point I'm taking from all this wimax talk is that SE has been very slow or dismissive in embracing new technology. This is their time, given Ericsson's expertise in this area, to implement it. It may take a few years to come in to existence, from the networks' perspective, but then the foundation would have been nicely laid.
I can still remember how long it took them to use EDGE and HSDPA compared to others. It is good that the C905 include DLNA which hopefully means the early adoption of new and useful technologies.
