Is there a good guide on how to make movies/video clips appropriate for the phone (3gp with ~500kb/s bitrate?), or if not, can anybody make one? That would be great!

Please help!

I've scoured the web and searched this forum and still can't get outgoing email to work. All the settings are as they were on my S700i and it will pick up but just not send.

Any ideas?

Is there a small shutter on your k800i? When I first slid back the protector there was a shutter that opened slowly but now I never see it.

i saw the same shutter only once and now it's gone. I think it ships that way and on first activation it "initializes" the shutter to open.

@Peanut.. Thought that it was just me! Can receive mail from all accounts that I have tried but unable to send any - I get password / username errors when I know these to be correct! Even problems using SSL/TLS. (Orange SIM in O2 K800i)...what gives?

Same problem here. Incorrect username or password, even though both are correct. Had a look through the GPRS, WAP etc., section but couldn't find anything.

re: the outgoing email

the O2 smtp is o2.smtp.co.uk

So if you are using orange in an O2 locked phone the email won't go as its on their network.

My Phone went nearly a week with a charge and about 4 hours of calls and loads of useage mp3 and stuff
by far the longest lasting battery on any phone

- this sets it apart from the n80 in my opinion - poor souls only get 1/2 days use out of theirs!

Now i need a hand, I have some Java GAMES - how do i transfer them to get them to work? I can't see what folder I put them in (a games folder?) but wondered if they have to go onto the memory card in some way?

copy the games or apps to other folder from pc ,then in the phone go to the other folder.
There you will see the jar file and u can see install option corresponding to left soft key, press it and itll ask where to install, give the appropriate folder and ure done.

pulling the strap hole won't help as its not part of the battery cover

I don't know what other people have written but my method for taking the back cover off is to hold the phone with the back facing up and the bottom facing away from me

use your fingers to support the phone but don't press hard on the sides or the front of the phone

now, using both thumbs press the back cover inwards towards the battery, and down towards the bottom of the phone, and I find it comes off easily

I experienced my first white screen when i brought my k800i out of sleep mode and checked on a new text message, it went away after 2 secs though and everything was fine.

I use my leathergloves whenever I have difficulties to take off the backcover. Works fine every time. This hint works of course only if you have a pair in your house. In countries with cold winters.
