Samsung's new F480, with 5mp cam and touchscreen etc, is now on sale here:

GSMArena review:

No virtual qwert keyboard or landscape option. What a pity with a screen like that...

Daaaamn J, that's way too long, dude. Give em hell today, really make a big noise. And i do mean BIG noise... There are few things which managers dislike more than customers bitching at top volume about poor service. It's bad for biz, so the manager will end up doing his best to keep you quiet, hopefully including the offer of a brand-new handset.

Hey Ama - You've 'inspired' me with your nice pics
Here are a few of my own.
My N73's keypad works only partially (buttons 2,3,7,8 and zoom in/volume up are down - keypad is fine thou - this time the damage is 'terminal' - Input decoding chip is toast)
Here is a pic of the 'innards' of a N73
And here is what my N73 looks like (over time I have changed most of the inside components + covers)
Ama - In your opinion what does a 'macro picture' mean? I thought only pics which appear bigger then real life are 'real' macro's.
While on vacation a few weeks ago, my kid saw this bug. my index finger is underneath. (So that you can get a idea of the magnification - about 7-8 X)
And finaly - here is something which bothered me the whole damn weekend. I went flying (as usual) this weekend (nice weather on Sat) and did not see a hidden rock while 'pullig up' the glider/wing. After a epic 35 min flight along Rondebosh ridge, I've discovered this (while folding up/packing the glider).
It may not look like much but when is coming to safety and rules/air worthy/certification, this is the equivalent of a bumper writeoff. Not only I can't really aford the +-2500 Rand to fix it but the 'grounded time' (1-2 months) is going to kill me.
Greetings from Jeffrey's
P.S. Please someone fix my spelling before brix grounds me (or is it grinds?)

@ Jan:
I guess if one looks at the origin of the term 'macro' mode, then yes, it does refer to pics reperesented as bigger than they are in real life. This is obviously apparent when viewing the pic on say, a PC monitor.
That fantastic macro pic of the gogga is a fine example.
But equally obvious is the ability for the camera to focus on such close-up detail, clear enough for detail etc to be viewed in amplified state; ie. on a monitor, screen, etc.
But hey, I'm no photography boffin, so dunno about a personal opinion about the subject, and my attempt at macro mode etymology is just based on what I've read (or perhaps what I can remember, LOL) over the years.

Just poppin in to say "hi" to all the posters from a humid Klong Luang in Thailand.
Been on the email to Vodacom since last week...I'm trying to get them to send me an upgrade phone to the Phillipines. Do you guys think it will be worth it since I'll be in SE Asia until mid March next year?
A couple of weeks ago I went into [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantip_Plaza]Pantip Plaza[url/] in Bangkok which is probably the world headquarters for pirated software and relatively cheap laptops. Here pirated software is openly sold with no fear of the law as cops generally turn a blind eye. I thought I would buy a laptop here but I was low on cash so I will either buy it in Manila or later this year when I go to Hong Kong.

Hey, da brixsta's in da house!
Great that you've had an opportunity to drop in here, mate.
Dunno about that contract phone being sent to the Philippines.. seems like a lot to risk. Even if they (Vodacom) were generous enough to use reputable couriers (which I doubt), what import duties would you be liable for there? Perhaps just hang in until you're back next March or so, if possible.
