Ya, it's not always easy being a stranger in a strange land.
All well here; hope you're doing OK there, brixsta.
Taken early Friday evening, on the way into central London. W890 being advertised.
Not the best pic out, but it was the first time that I saw the new Z555i on sale here. Very, very basic specs...there isn't even any video recording ability with that 1.3mp cam...! WTF?! Talk about retrogressive and a 'fashion' disguise to detract from the poor specs...
Even the most basic Nokia and Samsungs that have a cam have video recording, and didn't even the W550i and almost all of the other basic 1.3mp and VGA equipped (T610, T630, K700 etc etc) phones also have?! What's going on, ?
And apparently the tiny new T303 has the same camera module, i.e. no video either... retrogressive actions like these put me off a manufacturer, whether I'm intending to buy one of these more basic handsets or not.
@ Hobbster:
LOL, nah me no worry boet; I'm no big fanboy as you know. Sure, I like the P1i, the ol' P900 etc, but N73 ownership was a happy time too. Now lemme check out those new HTC's... LOL.
@ Rhino:
Wow, I'm very impressed with those pics, boet! That Beemer pic is particularly good. Yeah, you've got good reason to be happy with that phone's cam performance. Keep those pics coming.

@Brix What exactly are you doing there? Don't venture to far East ! I believe, not long ago, in Papua/New Guinea, human flesh is/was considered a delicacy. Mind you, next year this time, I might join you in that part of the world. (actually a bit further south in Brisbane). A few hours ago we (I+fam) just got back from our annual Southern Africa tour (3991km in 9 days). My n73 got wet and buttons 2,3,7,8 stopped working. Anyone read/heard about this problem before? Santan (I mean Santam) here I come - time for a N95-8gig :)

Great stuff. The Stormers are sitting at 4 on the Super 14 log with 2 to play.Got to say though its pretty tight between the top 6 except for the Crusaders of course.I really dont want to get rid of my P990i.This is what happened. This girl i know said she would give me R2200 to help cover my pay-in for the N95 8gb.I in a moment of excitement and madness stated that if she does she could have my P990i.Before I could come to my senses it was agreed from her side.Couple of reasons why i dont like the idea.I've looked after this phone so well it doesnt have a stratch on it.At first glance it looks new and you know woman who love handbags. My poor P990i is going to get pummeled amongst keys, wallets with metal zips ect Not cool. And also she wont ever use the 'smartphone' features of the phone and that would be a very sad affair.A waste. But then i think of the amount of people walking around whth N-series phones and who only use it to call and sms.Maybe Im just talking shite here and am just dreading selling my P990i.I love it to bits.Plan C maybe.

@ Hobbster:
Hmmm, a bout of Symbian Schizophrenia coming on there again, methinks, LOL.
If I was flush enough, I'd have a good few smartphones around me, but I can't say that (with the exception of the P900) I'm too sentimental over handsets and thus I was able to sell the N73 without too many grave feelings.
Not the phone's fault, just that the money could be put to better use than me occasionally dabbling with the other platform while the majority is spent on one; I just couldn't be arsed to carry 2 phones around any more, particularly if they're not the smallest things out there. For sure, I fiddle and faff with the secondary one at home now and again, but I hardly take both with me anymore.
But hey, that's just me.
