had the chance to play with the xperia arc yesterday. compared to my iphone4 it feels much thinner, and it doesnt feel at all plastic that i thought it would. The screen is huge but it doesnt have the same crisp in it as the iphone4 display do. all in all its super nice, im definitately going to switch from the iphone to the arc, the UI is as smooth as on the phone and it feels really fresh! |

Honestly! Where have you heard that??
Nothing shocking as most big camera manufacturers including Canon/Nikon use SONY sensors in their cameras including DSLRs.

The above news was dated October 2010 so it should be the same sensor use in Xperia Arc, right? Question is, why the Arc could not record 1080p video? It's Sony's product, why the best is given to Apple but not to SE?

Because 1080p requires dual core processor. |

It can believe new image sensor named Exmor R is capable for recording for 1080p but Processor didn't powerful enough.

Yes, even Sony said (at the announcement of these sensors) that they're capable of recording full-HD videos. |

Thanks for the explanation. Just hoping SE will release dual-core powered phone soon.

Bullshit. Ever checked the specs of Samsung's Infuse 4G? That's right. 1080p and no dualcore. Though it could very well be that the chip in arc is not up to it, but not because it isn't dualcore. |

Personally can't believe if the Play leaky ad would hit on Superbowl, I did not feel enough effort polishing on the ad anyway I hope it just a leak not final one!

so the answer is yes?
Xperia Play to be officially unveiled during Super Bowl?
Rumours doing the rounds suggest that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play (aka Playstation Phone) will get its first official TV airing later today, in a 30-second advert during Super Bowl XLV. If true, it will end one of the worst kept secrets (given the amount of leaks we’ve seen), which even extends to the actual advert likely to premiere later.
The Xperia Play wasn’t expected to be announced until Mobile World Congress (MWC) a week later. However Sean Bryan, Group Creative Director for McCANN Worldgroup, revealed on ABC News Nightline that he has been working on a “top secret” TV spot set to debut during the Superbowl for a “new gaming phone from Sony Ericsson.” You can check out the Xperia Play ad below.

edit: maybe they'll show a teaser

I guess it'll be a teaser. I don't want to believe they'll air the whole commercial in the Super Bowl.

Isn't an ad during the Superbowl the most expensive one you can buy ($3M)?
Advertising a phone before it is officially announced is a new strategy - it's being announced to the world via TV and not at a press event.
