I was just out doing some tech support for the CEO of Vodafone UK .
He had:
1 PC with a busted DVD+-RW drive (and running slow as hell)
2 Mac iBook G4s, and 2 Powerbooks (one of which was the new "Intel-book" or whatever).
2 IBM Compat. Laptops
and 2 Dell desktops.
All needed work.
The only things I couldn't get to work 'cause of sheer crappability were the macs. All PCs were fine, the first, I formatted and reinstalled all software. The 2 laptops, I set up for the wireless network and formatted one of them. The 2 dells, I arranged so that they were compatible with the local network, and one now has a RAID array (he had a bunch of spare SATA drives, I couldn't resist).
And still the macs dont work.
Maybe you lot can help. Every time I start the iBook G4, it gives me the "you must restart your computer" when it gets to the apple logo.
The other one takes about an hour to start, let alone run anything.
The powerbooks are fine, but installing an airport card is MUCH harder than the PC equivalent. Apple like to pretend its all plug & play, but thats only in the best of situations.
Sorry all, just a wee bit annoyed with Mac.

She was planning on taking her own life, but they day she was going to I finally managed to talk to her (hadn't heard from her in a long time) and I talked her out of it
Now I've gotten here to move here to Uppsala from her town (Sundsvall which is like 6 hour away) to start school here. She's going to live here in an apartment since she wants to get as far as possible away from home...
I'm going to take care of her and make sure she's going to be alright. She's going to have a whole new start in her life

Wow! You really sound like a superstar mate. I'm sure that there aren't too many people who could do that, even if they wanted to! Also to offer her a place to move to and look after her... your a good guy. Congrats.

Yeah I know what you mean. It feels good to help people out, and it's certainly nice to know you have people there for you to.

Well today I am doing nothing really. I have some work to do for school but I have a few days to do that so I may leave it. I think I will play GTA San Andreas for a bit soon, and then maybe play on my PSP. If I can find an instrumental version of I'll whip ya head boy, by 50 Cent, I will get my friend round. He is looking for it as he has made a song based on the beat to the song. He wants to try it out at mine with my mics etc.
How about you?
