Best practice for attached flashes ( Strong LED or Xenon, or even both in the same unit ) will be the audio jack.. or the USB port... and incase of new Sony devices, the magnetic port can be very useful unless the port is designed only for charging and can't be used by any software in the device which is what we can see ( only two contact points )...

and there's already some accessories that uses the audio jack for LED flash... we just need the camera software to send a signal through the audio jack to trigger the Xenon flash...

usb won't fly due to its large latency. something similar to PCIe or customized channel may work.

USB can be used in some situations, the Xenon flash time is about 1ms, while the USB latency is around 0.125ms when you use it as a a usb device... but if you do some modding and un-standards ( meaning using the usb port for non-usb communications ) then you can use it normally exactly like the audio port and slightly better

 | just wondering what people think about the back panel of the Z1, many of the photo and video previews seem to indicate that the back panel may not be glass like on the XZ or perhaps it's a matt finish or even rubberised |

 | my XZ was purple also and my XZU was white I'm now thinking black also - the frame looks pretty cool being slightly lighter than pure black
Any of you camera guru's out there I have a question

XZ was 13mp camera 4.3 and when changed to 16.9 reduced the Mp count to 9, on the leaked camera app pictures of the Z1 - 4.3 shows as 20mp but the 16.9 shows as only 8mp anybody know why there is such a big drop ?

 | doesn't it look funny how the phone prominently displays the time while the watch shows messaging apps more intently. |

 | Indeed, the time is displayed in pretty small characters on the watch.
Anyway, I like my dumbwatches, no need for smart ones I think...

 | it looks like the z1 already got a rival, a great one - g2 video review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtv7u6VWUeM phone arena site review: http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/LG-G2-Review_id3404 9.4/10 . all reviews especially praise the camera "best smartphone camera yet" and a lot thanks to its IOS (*in the all around flagship category that is).
i want to see z1 vs g2 vs note 3 vs htc one max comparison.

 | Can someone answer a question re smartwatch and the sbh52 smart Bluetooth headset....can u pair both to a phone at the same time and use both the headset and smartwatch to control music?... I have the mw2 n its great but if I get a smartwatch as well can both be paired n used at the same time with little lag?...is this why sony have yet to implement Bluetooth 4.0 cos its hard to do this?... |
