SE P5i Rumours and Photoshop Thread |

At this point I can't imagine SE being able to produce a smartphone remotely approaching the expectations. Especially if the rumors about SE coming up with a WM device is true, they must be more confused than I thought.
I still believe that SE has a decent platform on their hands with the P990/P1 but they do not have the capability (nor the desire) to improve on this.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

I totally agree with you on this. The P1i is a great designed device. Several misses that they have make its achilles heel.
1. cpu (way too old & dated, we should be looking for multicore multipurpose cpu's from Qualcomm - after court injunction issues with Broadcomm is resolved- Texas Instruments, etc)
2. Symbian 9.4 has been around for a few mths now and we should have this latest edition (so a few apps will need to be updated but minor to major developer houses).
3. VGA/QVGA recording @ 30fps (common SE you STARTED Symbian on a smartphone, paving the way. Its time to act like a leader now)!
4. Bring back the 5-way scrollwheel.
etc etc.
Now as for that photo ... a VERY SIMILAR one was posted in this very thread by Sealover some pages back.
AHA!
Check on this page ...

Look at the date as well!
However the EXACT photo in question was posted by Mizzle.

SO I guess Sealovers major slick attempt was this one here ... on page 102.

^ This design is growing on me as the SIZE seems PERFECT. Looks like the sheer SeySheekness of the Armani phone but with POWER!

My main gripe is that it is a slider, I hate sliders! Wished that they continued with the P910 design,ie, with the same size screen and a flip.

So does SE: it diversifies products and produces too much clones with just design as a distinction

Oh no NOT THIS again!
How many ppl just got rid of the flip on the P900/910/990 ?? Hmm. SE realized this and probably poled this as well and realized it was only going to not be used, since its touchscreen and all right?! |

i agree.
too many ppl just remove the flip at the shop before starting to use the phone.
flip is useful in P9xx series because of their UI design.
but if the UI in the P5 is an improved one; then not having a flip is not a problem..... in fact it's very good. |

@razec
I guess Nokia and Sony Ericsson secretly traded marketing strategy
SE used to do 1 all-rounder, now they're diversifying it. Nokia use to throw up a whole bunch of phones, now they're doing 1 all-rounder. |

O h no Wish we could have avoided this...
I've used my P900 with a flip and still need the flip on my P990. I guess it has to do with individual usage patterns, I just find it so much more convenient to have the flip on.
I did take the flip off for a week or so and it was just not convenient for me. I come from a Palm background so it should have been easier for me but with a phone the flip is simply a necessity.

@makbil- that's exactly how I feel! Still using my p910i with flip on and loving it. Also tried flipless and hated it. |
