If the energy logo disappears it will be a real pity cause it was one of my most favorite logos of all time......... sigh....so long then............... ... it made all accessories like Bluetooth and Headset instantly recognizable ......

I'm going to miss that on the new phones. Well, times change I guess.
Can't wait for hayabusa! Lets hope the rumours are true.

I just hope Sony stops using white magic (RGBW) displays on hayabusa as it's nowhere close to the color and contrast of Arc's display. I said before it is Sony's poor answer to Sharp's Quattron (RGBY) as adding white pixel only increases brightness at the expense of some contrast and saturation while Sharp's tech improves saturation especially with pictures with prominent yellow colors, reviews around the net already proved this point. and judging by the looks of the leaked Hayabusa images, it seems like Sony is adapting the design from TX200 camera, It would be awesome if it inherits the waterproof feature!

Where did you hear white magic was bad? God damn I had so high hopes for that technology
It's not bad at all
quite the opposite !

So I guess the question is, does the Hayabusa use white magic tech for the display? It might make for an interesting decision to have to make as a consumer if the Hayabusa uses white magic LCD and the Mint uses OLED. It would seem, based on the pics in the previously posted link that the screen of the Xperia P resolves the problems that some people have with the Xperia S for things like viewing angles.

IPS would be much better for Hayabusa if Sony had such thing on their factories, but since this is mainly a multimedia device (HD, 13mp camera etc.) the target audience typically craves for saturated colors and contrast which can only be delivered by an OLED type technology.

-> That's quite convincing given the repercussions of adding a pale color to the main colors. But I guess the Bravia Engine and the pixel density did the job for hiding the problems. Amazing, I stand corrected

Now that Japan Display Inc is up and running, and given that Sonys small/medium LCD business went into JDI, I wonder if they'll be making the Hayabusa screen or if they'll outsource that like they're apparently doing with OLED. As far as I'm aware, JDI is fully up and running, but their OLED production won't be good to go until next year.
Anyone have any info on what JDI is working on? |

Considering mobile phones takes 1+ year to develop, yes |
