Or the best scenario we could see Tegra 2 powered phone from SE in MWC 2011 next year.. SE usually spent 6 month - 1 year to develop phone from scratch.. |

Nokia/Samsung/HTC/Apple
will be all over the new A9's. im using an A8 right now, and its good, really good. so who knows, lets wait and see, all those features are power hungry and battery technology isnt increasing with the rest of the parts of these mobicomms (mc). so it remains to be seen, but i like snapdragon. |

Doesn't sound like Nokia style given the hopeless processors in their 2009 range excepting N900 and that's adequate - no more. |

ARM based SoCs usually take years between unveiling and retail. This is because the OEMs have to code and compile their ROMs for each platform. Even the OMAP3 had to wait almost 2 years before a phone sporting the same was unveiled.
Tegra 1 is based on ARM11. Both Snapdragon and OMPA3 are based on Cortex A8. The only place where Tegra trumps the other 2 is in power consumption. It's better suited for PMPs such as the Zune rather than a seriously productive machine. Tegra 2 however looks impressive. We'll see it in 2012, I guess.
If the world's still around, that is.
Aha! Thanx for that Synn, makes a lota sense.

IMHO Wait for a new SE Android smartphone(hopefully with no delays till summer) ... don't become testers of another sonyericsson's outdated first attempt. Otherwise go for Nexus one.
I said goodbye to this device since i heard about the x2 releasing date about a month ago..
I wouldn't touch the Nexus with a 39 & a half foot pole! There is nothing, absolutely NOTHING better in the Nexus over Rachel or X10. The bootup screen, possibly but nothing else. And I refuse to play with a 3yr old trackball technology on ANY smartphone. Been there and done that for 3mths with a BB Curve 8310/8300. Even RIM began to abondone that in 3 of their newly released smartphones (1 of which will come out for CDMA carriers).
With Ericsson owning serious patents and technologies along with ongoing contracts that Nortel Networks sold to them, SE is in a PRIME position to take advantage of Verizon's LTE development network - yes its already in testing and it'll launch (rumored) nationwide across USA late this year. No it won't be the first LTE deployment but possibly the largest initial offering, who knows. But its MAJOR chipset cheddar for Ericsson LM and this trickles down to future Android chipsets that will use for sure in the future. Well let's hope.
IMHO the Trackball is an excellent feature Sony Ericsson have missed for the X10
As for Sony Ericsson owning patents etc, as they cant write SW worth a damn I fail to see what benefit it will give them tLets not forget they still have the X10 in the lab with issues and an out of date OS version! and wont be delivering until March if we are to belive to posts here. The X10 is a nice looker and has some great "ideas" built in but it is not ready yet and I feel NEXUS has just upped the Android ante it is here NOW!
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

I think the design is a matter of taste. I know people who like the Droid but don't like the X10. This was taken just for comparison. I still like the X10 more than Dell's phone though the Dell Android is a beauty aswell. I like it |

This device isn't even a phone...It's a 5" tablet. I think you cant compare it with the X10. The design is really nice although i still prefer the X10 look. |

Don't get your wallets out yet - it's only a concept.

No, it's a smartphone with 5inch 800*600 OLED screen 16M colors , 5MP camera with dual led flash and it is a prototype unit (not a concept) just like X10 at this moment

Another video preview of X10 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMkaK-Vc1KU . There is nothing new and special in it, but the overview of the video says:
A quick overview of the SONY Ericsson XPERIA X10. The handset is running Android 1.6, but SONY did confirm that the X10 will be upgradeable to Android 2.1 in the future and could see additional upgrades beyond 2.1 as well.

Surprisingly that's not the last firmware. Look at the bottom menu bar - on both sides of the icons, where the sliders to open the menu are, you can see the older type - horisontal lines:
instead the new arrow:
And that prototype is laggier than some of the prototypes we have seen in the video previews lately.
