I didnt have to use warez nor pay for it! (Ipod Access). There was a promo where if you signed up to some video rental thing you got it free - so I did - and immediately called the video rental place and cancelled the subscription. Worked a charm!
- I just tried looking for the promo again but no luck. Will post if I find it.
EDIT: Ok I found it but its crap trialpay options at the moment.

No, I live and work on the North Shore.
I hope there isn't any disruption like that when I go back to Uni. I use the Western Springs/St Lukes on/off ramps alot.
I watched the report on One News tonight - seemed unreal somehow, abit too much like GTA San Andreas for my liking. What I don't get is why the police followed him round for 40 mins. In the States they'd have given him a nudge long before that, spun him round and hauled his sorry a$$ off to jail forever.

Haha I think the NZ police are too worried about their shiny new Holden Commodores.
I missed the start of the news so I only saw the story when they went over the top stories. I might go look it up now actually.

K just read about it in a very poorly written article on Stuff.co.nz. Seems pretty dramatic for little old New Zealand! It sounds as though they think the Police may have shot the young courier fella that was killed.

Yeah, its turning into a real cockup for the Police.
They put in a rolling block on the motorway, but only on one side and the offender jumped the median and played havoc amongst the oncoming traffic, leading to the accidental death of that courier driver and a truck driver being injured. A serious miscalculation there by police I'd say. That they let the offender drive around for 40 mins beforehand smacks of that incident last year where they took too long to come to the aid of an Indian Liquor store owner in Manukau City after an armed robbery.

Well it's Auckland Anniversary weekend and I thought I'd post some pics my wife and I took of our family outing today. These were taken using our Sony DCR-DVD708 Handycam which shoots in 1 Mp resolution albeit with a Carl Zeiss lens and 25x Optical Zoom.
The new Orewa to Puhoi motorway:
Warkworth Satellite Station:
Yellow Treehouse - a restaurant 10m up a tree!
I'll be in the city tomorrow morning, I'll take some photos of the regatta.
BTW, Internet Explorer 7 finally annoyed me one to many times tonight when preventing me from uploading these pics so now I'm trialing Google Chrome... all good so far!

To be honest, I haven't heard much about a new road up there. Might be because I've missed the news a lot lately. Like tonight I stayed at work to beat every single high score on Sega Rally 3 (which is awesome)
Anyway it all looks very nice! I especially like the restaurant... It's the one off the Yellow Pages ad right?

@yea g
The new road is great. Cut through mountains, sweeping corners, amazing bridges, tunnels (which just can't be found anywhere else in Auckland), great views of the sea at Orewa, it's quite stunning. I didn't mind the queues at all as I enjoyed the scenery so much.
@M-O
We had lunch at a cafe, part of a Bee-keeping operation which produces delicious honey, among other products. The Yellow Treehouse is the one from the Yellow Pages ads, you're right but at $75.00 per head with a minimum of 4 people for lunch, it's a little expensive for us. It'd be cheaper to dine in the Skytower. I just had to go have a look though, you know, from a architectural point of view.
The Satellite Station has beeen there for as long as I can remember; they used to do tours back when it was Government department owned (TVNZ I think?) but now that its privately owned by Telecom it is surrounded by fences and no access signs, and deserted.
