Okay, I know it's technically not bluejacking- but it's potentially a lot more fun! This is how it happened the first time...
>Connectivity
>My Devices
>New Device
Then the phone scans the area for another active BT device, when it found a device I selected
>Add Device?
It then asked me for a passkey-figuring most people wouldn't have had the presence of mind to change the factory code, I entered 0000, and presto!
I had the choices of Themes, Sounds, Pictures and Service Menu. I looked at the pics first and recognised the owner of the phone, who was sitting not far away- she had a T610, so I didn't mess with her too much, ripped some tones and left the services menu well alone. Finishing up I sent her a calling card with the message "switch off your blutooth & change code", I didn't fancy her though- just being neighbourly.
Remember- passkey is 0000 8/10 times(so far), I suspect it might only pair up so well with another SE phone/t610- if this is the case then play nice! Save your bile for those more deserving- you know who I mean... |

Come to think of it.. if you set a reminder for say...4:00am, and sent it via bt, presumably everyone with bt activated within range would get woken up at 4:00am with a message of your choice. Unless it asked them to confirm before it saved the new reminder.... Anyone tried this successfully? |

I tried pairing my t610 with my t68i and vice versa
the passkey "0000" worked fine since i didn't change anything
but the recipient(hijacked) set in both tries required permission on the hijacked set before the 2 phone added each other to "My Devices" List.
so did i do it wrong or something?
connectivity->bluetooth->my devices->new device
is it supposed to be done this way?
cos i couldn't get it to work. |

Sorry Endgame, but you're right- I tried to demonstrate what happened to a friend who also has a T610- same thing happened.
Weird.
All I can assume for the moment is that a) the other T610 owner had it unlocked in her pocket or bag, and the 'yes' key was nudged up against something. Or b) she was just extremely curious and pressed 'yes' to see what would happen.
This makes me sad as it'll possibly never happen again.
Sorry to waste your time Endgame, file this one under 'fluke'.

i did my first ever bluejack yesterday with about 10 others (didn't count) i was at a show, and i was all set up for bluejackin first i just done a few descovers to see what phones are around most of the phones i encountered were called phone, at first i thought these were just phones that were just on the boarderline for bluetooth but i managed to bluejack them . On my first bluejack i didn't want to go to far encase the man was behind me, so i just sent bluetooth device detected, but as i was with people and they were walking on i couldn't send anymore like downloading virus/ download complete, but as i walked on i saw a man take his phone out of his pocket look at it and then look around while confused. i also bluejack loads more like a phone called buffy and others, but i couldn't see wear they were as it was hard enough to hear my phone neither mind others. i also bluejacke a T610 and sent a note saying nice phone (they probably thought someone was eyeing up there phone (wooops) but i couldn't see them either, i kept finding the T610, but i thought T610's had discoverable for 3 mins like my T68i, oh well, i both nokia prime targets nokia 3610i and 7650 (is it 7650?). i also changed my phone name to another model name (T610) so people would look around for a T610 instead of my phone
overall i had a great day yesterday at the show and blejackin .

Errr hi guys,
i was also wondering if there is supposed to be a confirmation of the contact being sent successfully after the connection is complete. like say maybe: "contact sent" or something.
cos i tried bluejacking a few people today but the status screen just kept displaying: "Connecting" (with the bar moving)
and nothing happened. even after say like over 2 mins.
i gave up after trying it on a few phones.
could anybody help me out here?
thanks.

when i was bluejackin yesterday that happened (it got stuck on connectin) i just pressed no and waited for a while and it said "connection failed try again?" i think it's because the person is in range when you click send then they just walk out of range, keep trying this dose happen.
Yes when the contact is sent it'll say on your phone "contact sent" (or what ever you sent them e.g. a note would say note sent) but their phone seems to have recieved the item 1-2 seconds before this message (however it takes a while for them to get their phone out of their pocket).
Hope this helps

I used to "bluejack" a while back on my T68i, around xmas last year IIRC. I found a bluetooth printer in a Vodafone shop. Rather stupidly, I sent my business card by accident (the 'send own' option, which I hadn't read up on at the time!). So out prints my mobile number and full name - F***! Time to leave.
So once I changed the business card to 'I like cheese", I successfully printed that later.
Then I decided to pair my phone with the printer, which is easy, since the default code for printers is a single zero! Hey presto, instant printouts of childish drawings of penises (what? It's funny!).
They switched the printer off, and I've not seen it since.
So remember, printers are just '0', not '0000'.
I trust you will use this info for highly entertaining purposes!

I BLUEJACKED THE TOMO PHONE SHOP IN NOTTINGHAM!
I was standing out side the phone shop and I felt the need to search for any BT devices they may have. Along with a long list of phones a BT printer appeared...thinking quickly I found the half naked picture of a women I had on my phone. I then sent it to the HP BT printer. I didnt think it would work....sent!....I then went into the shop but couldnt find which printer it went to.
Great stuff though.....id love to see there faces when they find the pic! |

Im not sure if anyone has noticed
but the bluejacked phones needs to accept the contact in order for the contact to be sent.
in other words, if the person doesn't have his phone in his hands, looking at the screen, the bluejack attempt would have been a complete failure. as the nokia screen would just SILENTLY display:
Accept Contact from Unknown Sender?
Yes? No?
furthermore the phone does not beep or vibrate:"Contact Received"until the connection has been accepted. which plain sucks. now i know why all my bluejacking attempt sort of hung at the "Connecting"
Screen. Because half the people out there will not notice their screen, if their mobiles are in their pockets. and so will not know or accept the request for sending of contacts.
and when i walk out of the bluetooth range (15m?) the
"Accept Contact from Unknown Sender" would just disappear without a trace. with the CONTACT NOT being transmitted at all.
all in all, unless the person is on his/her phone sms-ing or playing games. the bluejack attempt would most likely fail.

Had a good bluejacking experience yesterday...had sman on search, and there was a guy in a suit infront of me who got out his 6310, and looked at it, pressed the yes button , slowed down , looked at it again, walking slowly now...then put his phone away and walked off..unfortunately I didnt get to see his face! What I sent was Urgent! then when he accepted he would have got "VIRUS UPLOADED" |
