I'm not being a troll just being honest.
The 1020 will blow the Honami camera out of the water by a million miles.
Depends on the use case.
I bet Honami beats 1020 AND 808 underwater, at the beach, in areas with sandstorm (not only middle east, but also China, Korea, Japan, thanks to Gobi) in areas with heavy rains (not only england, lol, but here in asia we get 15-20 typhoons each summer, lasting 2-3 days in your area, do the math), at poolside, etc
So, nice to have a good camera, but better to have a good camera you can actually use in more usecases
You want to compare cameras and draw a conclusion, then at least think a minute about usability!

is it just me who doesn't really care about the weight? I mean, a few grams here and there makes no difference to me. Hell, even 20 grams makes no difference to me. As long as the phone feels solid and balanced in my hand, that's what matters. If it's too light, it feels too fragile. I'd rather it be on the heavy side.
i guess it's just me

OT
Panasonic is exiting the phone business in Japan

Fortunately it seems that Sony has been doing well enough that we don't have to worry about this happening to them anytime soon. |

Docomo just said Xperia A blows iphones and S4 away last quarter, would be insane for Sony to quit.

I think Sony have proven they have a desirable product, so the question is when are they going to make a serious push for the North American market? They've got Japan, the rest of Asia and Europe covered quite nicely and are selling pretty well, but North America is the massive market they have yet to fully crack.
Kaz said they would focus first on Japan, Asia then Europe, then make their big push to North America, but that hasn't happened yet. I don't know if it'll happen with Honami, but I do hope it'll be soon. It'll require working out deals with as many of the major carriers as possible, but it's apparently what's needed to make things happen here. I really don't see any reason why Sony couldn't bitchslap the Android sales crown out of Samsungs hands at this point if they managed to get their products out everywhere. It juts seems that lack of easy availability is crushing their expansion hopes for now. I hope they have a long term gameplan they're working on. |

I was pleasantly surprised too. It thought the white Z was good looking but the Z1 is absolutely stunning! If I wasn't tempted before then I certainly am now!

The leaked honami FW was android 4.2, also gsmarena's page is based around rumour. I wouldn't bet on 4.3 at release, but there may be a surprise.
That's what I'm hoping for...

wont happen this year, I think they signed 1 year exclusive deal with t mobile in NA, this year they are focusing on PS4 probably. They are not in the best financial situation, and just started recovering. Best to keep saving up ammo, be patient and go in with a bang. Probably H2 next year we will see the big push. |

Honami's release firmware will be in the same branch as the recently release Z Ultra firmware, so 4.2.2. |
