Is there any way to make the phone faster?
When I want to make a new message it takes about 7 seconds before I can start typing... I can't say I'm a fan of that..

Peform the CDA change so that you can uset he latest generic world firmware. It makes it much faster than the latest UK firmware but not sure what firmware you are on at the moment. This give the biggest improvement. Turn of the transitions and like the others have said use capswitch. I also use swiss maanger to turn of non-critical apps just after start up.

My firmware now is: R9M003 1203-6566
But isn't CDA a hack? I don't like to hack my phone again.. I might lose all my messages
If I upgrade from SE pc suite, will I lose all my messages then?

Not sure if that is a generic world firmware or not but yes changing it is a hack. Changing the CDA, performing master reset or updating/reflashing firmware you will lose all your data. Not sure if you can back up messages using the back up function on the PC suite. Even if it does performing the CDA change will not allow you to perform a restore because the PC suite thinks its a different phone.

mine had the same problem(s).. don't think it's related to temperature as it died in early september.. sent it in for repair and they replaced the phone with a new one.. haven't had the problem since.. Not sure if it actually is a different hardware revision without this inherent problem ...

i dont think this is an isolated incident as i seem to remember someone else mentioning their phone had the same problem early dec. Btw are you in the UK? if so was ur phone sent to K&N for repair?

Got my G900 back from K&N for 2nd time last friday, after two minutes screen darkens and after a while the screen is black and doesnt re-light.
Rang SE again and they said to send it to a repair shop in Ireland,so i sent it on Monday, as I bought the phone in Hong Kong can bring it back to shop.

Me thinks K&N are only re-flashing phone and putting new covers on the G900. (im only guessing, but it sounds like it)

How come you sent it to K&N in the first place if you are in Ireland? You from north or south? Im originally from Belfast.

They are obviously not testing them or understanding the problems we are reporting. Its definitely an LCD/touchscreen problem. Dont understand why they dont just replace them. I am wondering how many repair attempts we are the allowed before we can ask for replacements.

I sent it to K&N UK as the G900 was never released in Ireland (south) so I thought if I sent it to an irish repair shop they wouldnt have a replacement touchscreen.
Even though K&N dont seen to have them (or want to use them).
If i hadnt bought my phone from HK I would have brought it back to shop and asked for replacement.

I have only ever used the CPW repair centre in Balfas once and that was 6 years ago. I guess I was lucky as I nearly bought one out there in June. Dont know what the problem is in replacing it as you can buy them of ebay. Is it not worth buying and replacing it yourself? They arent cheap though but then again i dont know if you are paying for your attempted repairs.
