Stick with it, the first couple of hours you play it it isnt particularly amazing, you start with a poo car and no ability to upgrade it but you just have to get past that and when you start doing decent races and start winning cars etc it gets better. Trust me!

Didnt realise the new dashboard update came out today! Looking forward to inspecting that later

Yeah, if it's three red rings aka RROD, it's a goner.

I think the arcade (the cheapest version) comes with an HDMI port on it. Someone correct me if i'm wrong

Oh yeah, it is today isnt it. It looks good. Has anyone updated to NXE yet?

I've just run out of xbox live. After you get used to it, I cant believe how boring it is without it!!

@Massuer

If you have to get another one, I would recommend the Premium unless you already have the hard drive. Simple for the free demos and content.

lol, sorry, that was my first thought when I read that. cheapest premium I can find is about £260ish or is there somewhere cheaper?

is that the £60gb premiums? if it is then I have no idea what I was looking at as I'm pretty sure it wasn't a package with games or extra controllers etc

The arcade is £130 and the Premium is £170. I guess it depends on what your after from a games console. But to play online, store the free demos, store media and whatever they add in the future the extra £40 is well worth it. But I guess it depend how you use the xbox.

yeah, you're right. I guess I must have been looking at bundles as a quick google does show prices around £160ish. sorry about that. well my daughter will be happy as I told her if I have to spend £260 then she won't be getting anything else! thanks for that

No problem. Premium's the way to go, especially since everyone I know that bought a Arcade then had to buy a £50 hd for it, to make the most of the 360.

@masseur, just out of interest how old is the xbox that's packed up...i'm assuming it's out of warranty period? May be worth ringing up M$ an seeing if they'll fix it anyway

Well the newer ones should be the newer build ones which hopefully wont have the same problems.

I'm sure that M$ extended the warranty period to 2 years for RROD problems, so you may be able to recoup a bit of money if you can get it fixed for free and then sell it on at a later date

Cool. You may need the serial number off the back of the Xbox for them to check on their systems though
