Brix, what's your take on Jon Qwelane's column? I like the fact that the man speaks his mind, regardless of how controversial his stance may sometimes be.

Sour grapes? The pot calling the kettle black? Honestly I don't know what to make of JQ any more...I think in his old age he has become an embittered shadow of his former self. The man left 702 very bitter when they failed to renew his contract, probably after one too many on-air scuffles with racist callers.
I also don't have a problem with black journalists forming associations but when I looked through the people who had organised this thing my mind was made up. How can you have the likes of Abbey Makoe championing the cause of (black) journalists when he was responsible, in part, for a failed hatchet job on the same JZ. It boggles the mind how some journalist can allow the likes of Makoe to speak on their behalf when he's at the forefront of silencing dissenting voices within the SABC.
Honestly I think the response to the reformation of the FBJ was over the top, in part because 702 and etv got their panties in a knot over a supposed moral highground that they wished to claim.

Great stuff.Glad you like.I thought it got a facelift from some screenshots I saw on the web but it looks exactly the same but with all the improvements. Its a great little player indeed.(touchscreen been a bonus for us UIQ3 users) Sound quality is brilliant. And the video's Ive viewed have all been crystal clear, almost perfect quality. They have a media player for the PC called CORE MEDIA PLAYER and I swear, nothing comes close to the sound quality of it.Not Windows Media Player,Winamp,Musicmatch Jukebox,JET,GOM ect The only one that can give it a run for its money is Real Player. The only downside to the PC Core Media Player is its appearance. Its very simple and not very customisable.Isnt it strange that the two worst looking media players for PC,been Core Media and Real Player, pack the biggest punch when it comes to audio quality and sound.Simplicity.You gotta love it. |

We're in agreement there, Brix, it puzzled the hell out of me how JZ actually entertained the whole thing whilst knowing that some of his biggest (erstwhile?) detractors were running the FBJ show.

LOL, another hectic day at work, boet.
Had my fair share of things to contend with today. Oh well, so it goes.
I've finally put my P900 to rest. I had demoted it to a secondary phone once the P1i took over. I'm really not making any use of the P900 now. What an innings it's had; nearly 4 years of sublime service. I'll keep it in a draw somewhere as a spare/back-up; won't get much for it in its well-worn state anyway.

Looks like are going to take as long with the X1's market release as they did with the P990i...

The new (low spec) T303 slider sure is tiny, at 83mm x 47mm x 14.7mm:

More T303 pics. Bluetooth, 65k screen, but no card slot, and only 8MB internal memory... yet they include trackID..
I guess its looks and very tiny form factor appeal might also help with sales, if it's cheap enough...
