Thanks for the response about the LED light guys, I've never owned a Sony/SE phone so thanks for the clarification.
So I guess the only remaining issue is if there are going to be multiple ROM versions, and I'm rather skeptical on that one...

That's not really an issue since it's really easy to change ROM on android if that's what you are referring to.

Ok ... joke relief post time. But I'm completely serious in preparation for this Xperia Z1.

Back to the excitement ... does anyone think Sony have a potential branding issue? The leaked photo of it in white on the previous page in this thread has the big "G" and I'm wondering if others will think its the "G" representation of an LG or Optimus G. I doubt it but I wonder.
So this thing is going to kick arse and take down names to show Santa Claus right?!

We already know what Apple and BlackBerry are bringing, Nokia inclusive.
If this is marketed just right and heavily with a longer product lifecycle (not 8mths or less for something much more specacular), we could see Sony on the verge of a HUGE sales rise, larger brand name recognition (since PS4/PSHome will tie into these products), and new rise amongst worldwide charts.
I've always believed Sony should be the mass manufacturer that Apple strived to be and equal or better Apple in such common-global design comfort levels, while still being iconic!

That's not really an issue since it's really easy to change ROM on android if that's what you are referring to.
I'm referring to the amount of ROM memory. Anything above 16GB would be appreciated. |

@Supafly - since the G is right next to the lens, anyone in the imaging industry will recognize it means G lens, which is what sony uses on its cameras

LED is color-changing ofc, front only. The back notch is to make it easier to service the phone (now they have to use suction cups to get the back off the phone). |

The normal release process for Sony Z series has been Japan HK first then India about 3 weeks later progressively spreading west and eventually reaching the Americas some 6 weeks later, I assume it will be available in Japan and HK the second week of September maybe even the end of the first week

The early descriptions by maiaramdam regarding the LED light positioning seemed to fit ItsJustJohs's discovery, I remember what maia described before that the LED strip is back to back from both faces.

It is quite unlikely that Japan will get it first this time. We have not heard much news of a media conference in Japan. Being Docomo in Japan, they will have to burn their logo and install their own custom skin. So until about October, the phone will likely to be released in the Fall/Winter Collection. Since, Sony is also targeting China with a 5 Sept press conference in Beijing, it will likely to be released in China first before any other countries. |
