Jmash, thats just atrocious buddy.I've only had one experience with having to get a phone repaired and thats when years back my Samsung D410's screen died.Took it to my Service Provider who then sent it to a Vodacare and within 4 days it was fixed and delivered to my door.So personally,I have had one good experience. But 2 weeks and no-one has even looked at it is pathetic to say the least.Sounds like MTN are in need of some skilled and efficient cellphone technicians.Maybe I should do a course and apply for a job with them.

Well the mrs is a cell technician, she is not authorized to repair MTN warranty phones, those have to be sent away, and they sometimes have to wait for 3 months to get the phones back... in alot of cases, because the phones has been sent back to the wrong address or the phones has been misplaced.

I tell you guys, thats a hectic profession with all the limitations and all.

Imagine, ordering parts from nokia takes up to 6 weeks to get to the mrs, ordering the parts from an international destination will be faster.

WOAH! R800 for a 4GB? That is pretty steep, not even going to talk about a 6GB then. Not even 4GB MS Duo Pro? Im suprised, they should have atleast had 4GB.
Thanx for the link to that N82 Blog

@tranced: Its been more than a week since I spotted the smiley king.

@Jmash: You should be hard on these buggers. I've made a conscious decision to no longer accept pathetic service.
I'll concede though its difficult with a giant like MTN but there should be someone at their head office willing to listen to your complaint- if you do want to speed up this process.

Is it just me or have you guys noticed a massive increase in content providers. Even on a site like a Esato, advertiser links would direct me to SA-specific content.

Actually the best way to get an mtn cell c or vodacom repair done is to take it directly to an advanced repair center.when the cell companies cant repair a phone at like say vodacare in vodaworld they send it of to IXIA .they cover all the networks repairs and waiting time is under a week.i only know of the one in midrand (allendale offramp) i know this because vodacare once wanted to take my phone in for two weeks and i said that's bull so they told me to take it direct it's quickest way.

@da wanqsta: Hope you survived the earthquake this morning. From reports on BBC it seems not too many people were injured.

I hope that it won't be repeated though. We've seen the devastation caused by quakes in the East... I can't begin to imagine the mayhem a larger quake would have caused.
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.
